4/15/98 I just checked out the highlights for today and AGAIN, there is no RJ! Hmmmm....I wonder what has happened to him. Is he still in the hospital; is there a doctor tending to him? Do you think Hank and Rachael pulled themselves away from Nora/Bo/Georgie long enough to fuss over RJ as Cassie, Mel and Kelly are fussing over Dorian? It can't take that much of an effort to shoot a few scenes with The Gannon Family at the hospital; after all they are already there. When will we see him again? And where will RJ be? Will he still be in the hospital? Who will be RJ's lawyer? Can't be Nora, she is too wrapped up in Georgie. I hope it is Sam; yeah, I hope it is Sam.
4/10/98Finally, RJ comes home. This isn't little, this just makes me go "Excuse Me" but Rachael should be more upset about RJ than Georgie. Why did they have to bring Georgie's sorry storyline to the hospital? Georgie shouldn't be taking Rachael's and Hank's attention away from RJ's condition or legal predicament. Rachael gets what 2 seconds with her Uncle RJ and ten minutes going on about Bo. She has got to know Bo better than that. Rachael has no business all up in Georgie's obsession with Bo -- to me it seems as if RJ's condition is taking a backseat to Nora/Bo/Georgie. Run Georgie out of town now!!!
I loved the scene between RJ and Nora; I do believe RJ needs Nora's opinion of him to be good. I wonder -- do you think that Nora is still RJ's first love? They looked so sweet as they were talking; and you could tell they cared so much for each other. I just wish that Hank and Rachael would have been given the same kind of heart-wrenching scenes with RJ.
4/6/98 Well I don't know about anyone else, but I thought RJ deserved more than just a mention today; I would have thought I would have seen a nice bonding scene with RJ and Hank; I didn't even get to see Rachael's reaction or has anyone told Rachael that her Uncle RJ has been shot? What I did get to see is Georgie (whine); I am sorry but Georgie's delusions are of no interest to me -- I wanted to see RJ, Hank and Rachael come together. When Kevin was hurt I didn't have to wait to see him get wheeled off to the hospital; I didn't wait long to see Vicki and Clint's reaction; or Vicki and Clint fly off to Canton; I also got to see their anguish for Kevin.
What I saw was a piddly mention from Nora to Sam about how Hank's brother was shot and she didn't know his involvement in the kidnapping; and then I got hear that she was concerned about Rachael's reaction. I wonder when she called Rachael to tell her.
4/3/98RJ WAS SHOT!!!! As they wheeled RJ away he asks Max how the children are, and Max tells him they are fine, and says "thank you".
4/2/98I'm not saying anything because I thought that seeing RJ on March 2 was the beginning of more of RJ. WRONG!!!!
Anyway, I am so glad that this kidnapping story is finally coming to its end. Timothy really went over the top with his scenes while explaining to Jacara how this all came about. I think that this is the best I have seen of him; He was so touching and I could tell he was tormented because of his need for vengeance to get Jacara back. Unfortunately, since I know Marva Hicks is no longer on contract, I didn't find myself rooting for her to forgive him or understand. I know that there is no excuse for vengeance but I felt sooo bad for RJ; this whole thing blew up in his face and he has been doing his darndest to find the twins ever since the day he heard they had been kidnapped.
Like I said Timothy D. Stickney's performance was...I don't know it was great. Forgive me because I am not one who has adjectives floating in my head --so all I can say is -- Timothy made me feel sorry for RJ.
2 March 1998 Now how stupid do they really think I am as a viewer and a RJ fan? RJ is TOO smart to be putting a cablegram that could lead him to Claude in his desk drawer. As I was watching it, I said to my son who also likes RJ, "RJ is not that Lame. Why would they have him do something so stupid?" Well, later on in the show we find out why. Max and Blair for some reason always manage to have access to RJ's office. Why is that? I mean...PUHLEEZE!, this Club does not have a whole lot of WASPY people working there, so how could these two just waltz into RJ's office and snoop around; without drawing attention to themselves? The worst of all worst things about this whole set up is that there is no way RJ would leave that kind of trail. I wish these writers would quit "DUMBING DOWN" RJ!!!!!
March 1, 1998I am really behind here, and I apologize. It's not like RJ has been on that much this much. What I saw him on Tuesday and Thursday or was it Friday. Anyway he was on mostly for Nora. And now that Jacara is no longer in the picture because Marva Hicks has been let go, RJ is back to caring for his Bonsai Tree. I did, however, like how he let Hank know that he does not like the idea of anyone thinking that he is a kidnapper. Hank didn't know what to say to that. Then there was that walk in plot device for Max and RJ to run into each other at Nora's office. I don't like how they made it look RJ didn't understand the rules when Nora agreed to represent them. I guess this is the PTB's way of getting us back to the kidnapping. But now it appears that the story will not be that much about RJ as much as it will be about Max (Y-A-W-N!) and Bo's gut instinct. I have to hand to Timothy D. Stickney because he certainly makes the most of his appearances no matter who the scenes are set up for.
Only makes me wish again for a storyline between the brothers and I hope that this new writer can do it.
Yet again I will hang in there with "HIGH" hopes, ever the optimist.

4/15/98Haven't seen RJ since Nora visited him; I think he is still in the hospital; Dorian is and of course that takes precedence over RJ's condition
4/10/98Well, I am a little behind. I put up "Hmmm..." comments before I put up the storyline update.
RJ is in his hospital room, eyes closed as Hank talks to him. You can tell by the sound of Hank's voice that he is frustrated with RJ. He just doesn't know what to do; he says something about how people will feel and as he is about to leave, RJ asks him how he feels. They talk and Bo barges in; Hank wants Bo to take it up with RJ later and to let RJ get some rest. RJ interrupts and says no, now is as good a time as ever. My "man" RJ took full responsibility for the twin's kidnapping; he tells Bo that he didn't order the kidnapping but he wanted Max broke and he didn't care how. He hired Claude and Claude hired those two guys that ended up in the river.
In the meantime, Rachael finally shows up. She isn't too happy about seeing Bo, and I am not going to go into it because I think the PTB are being disrespectful towards the Gannon family. Anyway, Rachael finally makes it into see RJ; she express how upset she was when she heard.
She and Hank leave; he tells Rachael that RJ is indirectly responsible, and she thinks that Bo got to Hank but he tells her that RJ confessed to his part. The whole thing was all kind of a set up for Georgie/Bo/Nora.
Later Nora visits RJ and he is suprised to see her. He wants to know what she is doing there; he figured she had given up on him; Nora saw how he had changed. He tells her that he led everyone to believe that he changed. She says she needs to hear that he didn't order the kidnapping; he tells her "no" and Nora is relieved. She tells him that he has changed.
4/3/98RJ and Max flew to Montreal, Canada with the assistance of Asa Buchanan. They arrived at a dive bar that Charboneau hung out at; asked questions about Shadowgate that alarmed the waitress. She makes a call to warn someone; a few minutes later a man and a woman show up. They go up to Max and he asks if they know where shadowgate is; they don't answer. Max decides to call Bo who is trying to find out from Asa where RJ and Max had gone; in the meantime they also have the video tape and he has one of his policeman trying to zero on anything that would lead Bo to Max and RJ. Max asks Bo to help him figure out what Shadowgate is and by that time Bo's guy finds a sign that he is able to enlarge that says "Parc Chateau Gay"; Bo informs Max that it is Chateau Gay not Shadowgate. Max hangs up before he tells Bo where he is; during that time Asa shows up and Bo threatens to have him arrested if Asa doesn't tell him where RJ and Max are. Eventually Asa tells him that they flew to Montreal.
Max and RJ find Parc Chateau and as they are looking for Max's twins Leslie sees her dad and runs up to him. They are hugging when the couple that was following them arrive at the parc also; just as Max and the twins are hugging the guy points a gun at Max; RJ sees the gun. There are threats and RJ tries to wrestle the gun away; Max pulls a gun but then throws his gun down. There is a skirmish -- the end result was RJ was shot and the kids are safe. The Canadian police show up and arrest the kidnappers; the woman who adopted the kids apologizes -- she didn't know.
The twins tell Max that they thought he was with Mommy and wanted to know why he didn't come sooner. He says he was looking for them and that Mommy was looking out for all of them.
4/2/98
The last couple weeks are basically a blur but I do know that Jacara witnessed a video tape delivered to RJ from Charboneau via delivery boy. She asks RJ what was on the tape and he responds with his future. Somehow and sorry, (I can't remember) probably because I usually fastforward through most of Max and Blair; but somehow Max is aware of the tape and believes it will lead him to the kidnappers. That same night was the "Surprise Birthday Party" for Rachael and Max decides that he and Blair are going to crash it. As it so happens, Georgie, the ever perfect Georgie, has put together a tape of Rachael's life as a present. Both tapes end up on RJs desk and Max is after RJs. As luck would have as Max is demanding the tape, the tapes got mixed up and the tape that they end up watching is Rachael's. As the party attendants watch the tape RJ breathes a sigh of relief. During the argument over the tape Bo steps in between Max and RJ and asks RJ if that were true; did Charboneau have a tape delivered to him. Of course Jacara is standing there when RJ lies.
As much as I can remember I guess Rachael had a great birthday party -- we saw her entrance and her suprise but that was it.
Now it is a couple weeks later, Jacara apparently had stayed away from RJ; she shows up at RJs apartment and she tells him that she has stayed away because he lied so easily to BO about that video tape. Now here I can't tell you what happened because I missed the part where Jacara gets the tape and takes it to Max.
Jacara does return to Max, and Max asks her to listen to his side of the story. He tells her he wanted Charboneau to go after Max and like I had said months ago; I knew that there is no way RJ would have followed through with this scheme if he knew they would go after Max's kids.
Anyway after all that, Max goes gunning for RJ;RJ is sitting in the dark, in his apartment when Max enters. RJ calmly tells him that he has been waiting for him. Max knocks him around; somehow RJ was cut and there is blod. RJ convinces him that he won't find those kids without him. There is no way that Charboneau will ever talk to Max; I really thought RJ had been shot -- the look on his face was pretty convincing, but Max didn't shoot RJ. (thankfully!!!!) The next scene shows them at Charboneau's -- someone had beat them to him and he had been shot, he is almost dead and tells them where to look.
They are in Montreal, Canada at some dive trying to find out what they can but the waitress tips off the kidnappers. Max decides to call Bo because he needs help with the clue "shadowgate" which turns out to be "Chateau Gay Parc". They show up at the Parc and there they are "Frank and Leslie" and Leslie runs up to her dad immediately. The kidnappers have followed them to the Parc and the scene ends with RJ looking over staring at a gun pointed at Max.
3/2/98What do you know? The air date for March and we see RJ. RJ is back at the Club Indigo working with Rachel when he gets a cablegram; reads it; quickly tells Rachel he has some business to take care of and takes off. But before he takes off he puts the cablegram in his desk drawer. He goes off to meet Claude; and RJ is not happy that Claude hasn't come up with the kids. He explains to RJ that he has been laying low and trying to lose the police tag. Claude hadn't because Bo knows that he has resurfaced. Claude informs RJ that he has done all he can and he would need more money; and RJ, furious, tells him that Claude hasn't done everything that he can and that he has gotten plenty of money from RJ. Claude tells RJ that he has to be careful because this "Babystealing" ring is big. In the meantime, Max and Blair were back at RJ's office rifling thru his stuff and they find the cablegram. While RJ is in a heated discussion Claude, Max and Blair are on the other side of the wall. Blair overhears RJ tell Claude that he better get back to Canada.
Well for those who missed RJ did make an appearance the week of February 23 - 27th; short but excellent as usual. He had a little run in with Max; he had somewhat of something with the ever obnoxious Bo Buchanan. I am beginning to root for the Senator; didn't think anyone could be more obnoxious right now, but I was wrong. Then there was that scene where Nora decides that no she can't work for Blue Jay Records; goes to RJs office to inform him. Oh humm -- watching RJ tend to his bonsai tree was more interesting that listening to her little defense of why she is quitting. This whole thing rubs me wrong, but then I never liked the kidnapping story in the first place. So let's hope that RJ and Hank are seen more often. Today is a new month!
