• I've took quite some time reading through all the comments given by fans of the various TCS actors and actresses. Wow, I should say that most are very loyal fans. Great! Keep up the good work. By the way, I am no particular actor or actresses' fan. Nonetheless, I would like to contribute a bit to the well being of the TCS. For the actor and actresses, I hope they understand that their acting skill really need a lot of brush up. If they would but compare themselves with Hong Kong movies and series. They are more natural where as TCS actor and actresses are a bit stiff. (I still a TCS supporter) A few comments on some of the actor and actresses that I watch really often.
  Zoe - She is good in acting as an innocent and simple girl (My family and I really likes her in the character - very natural) but she needs more improvement in portraying cunning and unscrupulous character. And it's true that she needs to do something about her aging signs. It's pretty obvious.
  Fann - She is natural in acting. Thus far, she wasn't given many chances in acting a deeper and darker character. She got really good smile. Also, she needs to be more tactful of what she is saying in public.
  Ann Kok - She is quite natural in acting as a school girl or girl next door kind. Thus far, not given other type of cast. She's not so well-received by some... maybe she should reflex on herself why.
  Pan Lin lin - she is overall good at acting as good and bad guy.
  Huang Biren - she is also a good actress.
  Carole Lin - Though she win the award of the Best Actress, she is really not that great. But I would say, she has her own character. More outstanding than those pretty ones.
  Xu Mei zhen - I always felt that she is really really good but I think she is lack of X-factor that will make her popular. She can really act naturally.
  For male actor, I really like Xie Shaoguang, Huang Yiliang and Zhu Houren. And, Li Nanxie has really improved his skill in the recent series with Zoe. Keep up the good work. TCS gear up! Brush up more on skill and don't be too concern with show off. If you are really good in acting and humble, you don't have to do extras to outshine others.
• fann wong is such a slut. she is jealous of Zoe Tay and give hints of it whenever she is interviewed and asked question regarding Zoe. Zoe is so nice about it and even praise fann's versailty in acting.Zoe is such a good role model, fann has so much to learn to be a nice person.

• Hi, it's been a long time since I got a chance to watch any TCS TV series. I first watched a TV serie called "Beautiful girls" (right name?) which was Zoe's first TV serie and was quite impressed. But that was a long time ago. Recently I got some TCS tv series video tapes (it is not often to have these in the US) and watched her performance in "Golden pillow" and "unbeatable II". I think she is great! It was so lucky for me that I could find this page of yours for her. The introduction page for her at mediacity is too simple, not really enough. Anyway, great site and thanks.

I am not bein g biased but i really think that she always tries to act sweet when she is alrea dy 20-over. and she always looks so white it is quite scary. THESE ARE NOTHING BUT SHIT!!! it's obvious that these fans only like the stars' looks-not their acting!in that case, what's all the SHIT about their lousy acting?! and TCS-when that star is shining, u see lots of her/him in mags, on TV etc...and then after the shining stars batteries dried off it becomes like their names don't even exsists- i would take xiang yun for an example. THIS IS SO MADDENING!!! and to those who were booing the stars' lousy actings: STOP THE SHIT AND I BET U CAN'T ACT!!!!BOO and MOW!!!
• I was told that Carole Lim was a playgal... she had lots of boyfrenz... once she was even ditch by her ah boy becoz she acted in the show Price Of Peace and was seen faked nude, at 1st when I see it myself... I thought she was naked too...
• The awful fighting btn the fans are really AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But I would like to see ore of that as they are kinda funny . However, I think the shitty ones are Fann Wong n that Ann Kok! Please !! Put them on house arrest !!!!!
• Zoe is just unsightly. Look at the face and hair-style in "Rising Expectations". I think Xiang Yun looks better and more suitable for the role. What to do? Zoe got the role probably she is too demanding on TCS and too inconsiderate by not letting others a chance.

• I was told that Zoe is rapidly losing her confidence due to severe competition from the Wongs. First, it was Wong Li-Lin who outshines her in "Rising Expectations" in terms of look, acting skills and popularity. Second, it was Fann Wong who is way ahead of Zoe in two commercials, singing and acting. Both Wong Li-Lin and Fann Wong are so young compared with Zoe, the old lady.
  As a previous fan of Zoe, I strongly suggest that she quickly steps aside on her own accord, rather than be kicked out by the increasingly sensible viewers of TCS.
• I wanna say something for some stars. Zoe , forget what people say about u being old. Foreign stars are neither young yet popular. Lina, U r great too though u have no luck this year despite so many shows. I'll support u both .Aileen and Chen Liping, Phyllis are equally great actresses though Phyllis must brush up her skills. I luv u all only!

  Look at "Rising Expectations". Certainly, Wong Li-Lin outshines her in terms of youth, acting and popularity. But everyone in Singapore is too polite and diplo matic not to hurt Zoe. Everyone keeps saying she is good, she's number 1. But ev eryone is not offering Zoe constructive suggestions.
  Look at "MacDonald's" advertisement. The first reaction of everyone on the stree t is how the bubbly Fann Wong outshines Zoe throughout the 30-sec advertisement.
  Just put anyone (Ann Kok or Phyllis Quek) with Zoe in any serial or advertisemen t, I am confident Zoe's age and weaknesses will show immediately.
  Age has caught up with Zoe. Her skin has dried up so much. She's too scrony.
  She should know better to withdraw, take on lesser role, so that younger stars h ave fair opportunities. Due to her presence, the new cast is always neglected. E veryone in TCS is giving Zoe too much face. Of course, they don't want to offend her.
  I suspect everyone wants her to make the first move. Step aside.

• With new blood streaming into TCS, Zoe's exit is long overdue. I can't possibly understand why she doesn't want to bow out gracefully when her career has peaked. In all the recent serial, Rising Expectations, the low viewership attests to her declining popularity. It's so boring to see her one-pattern facial expression. Most of the time crying. Her lips are so awful, not to mention her complexion. I seriously doubt if she uses IMEDEEN as advertised, or just pocket the money from the commercial. Here she betrays consummerism. Look at her latest hair-cut, just like bush fire in Australia, strike by lightning. She is in her 30s, never forget that.
  If she insists in sticking around TCS, she's going downhill and the new stars have no chance. Perhaps the top guys at TCS waits for her move, they will not want to offend her by asking her to quit.
• those fans' comments are really crude and vulgar esp. of ann's. i'm a true fan of Zoe. But i must admit that she should not sing. in fact fann can't sing too (she sounds like she hasn't got the breath to sing!). lina's too skinny and ugily dark. worst still she appears to have a bit of moustache just like that Yang Li Bin. can't they shave? sooo disgusting.....

• Yes, i agree that Zoe is fantastic...but not all that great. I've played Mahjong with her before and she was a pretty bad spot...only want to win. Then, she was without makeup...just like normal. Actually everyone needs packaging, with the right styling, everyone can look like Zoe Tay.

• I have never like Ann since her star search days. I personnally do no t think highly of her acting. If it is the wonder "push-up" bra that brought her fame then again think twice before sending your votes. • I saw Phyllis Quek in Takashimaya on 28/8/97. She was with a friend then. She wore a bright yellow shirt & black pants, she used a hairband & was wear ing nice make-up. She looked really good. So when the rest of the world decided to just looked on & point at her, I surprised myself by asking her for her autograph! I just couldn't control myself & plucked up enough courage to walk to her. Listen well, she is really very nice, humble & obliging. I was pleasantly surprise! I was very glad that I had done that 'cause (here come the confession : I never really liked her, think that she's arrogant and will not read her interviews or watch her show! Sorry, Phyllis!) But I guess I'm wrong. I kinda of like her now. I believe I'll vote for her this time round for Stars Award '97 and hopefully she will emerge to the Top Five!!
• frankly speaking, i really do not give a damm about zoe or fann. however, this is not to say that i do not respect either actresses. in fact on the contrary, i do greatly respect both of them as credible and able artistes. but today, my focus will be on 3 actresses- the first a veteren actress who had reached the peak of caldecott hill before: chen liping, the second an established young actress of her own right: cynthia koh and lastly but definitely not least, an actress who has successfully come out of the shadows of her own peers and proved to be an accomplished artiste: lina ng. these 3 actresses are, as i have observed over the years, very hardworking and responsible artistes who have proved to be more than professionals in their profession. hence, i feel it's about time for someone to pay a tribute to all these 3 immensely talented actresses and i will be gratified to do the honor.

• I'm from philippines and studying here in S'pore. Honestly speaking, the actress here in S'pore are not so pretty and good in acting. I've seen Fann, Ann and Zoe personally and I find that Fann is sweet and her skin is so smooth and her acting is also good for Ann she is cute and sexy but very snub... and for Zoe she is pretty on screen (TV) but when I saw her face she's not that pretty at all and it turn's me off to see her scar on her upper lips and on her eye brown she looks horribbbble without make up but I think she is a nice person. I chose Zoe Tay, Fann Wong and Phyllis Quek becauze all of them can act very well especially (definitely) Zoe Tay. I know a lot of people thinks she is already very old and is time for her to retire but to me, we are still learning as long as we are living. So,there's no reason why Zoe Tay should step down becauze of her age. For Fann,I also know that there are a lot of gossips etc. about her but I think she is an excellent actress except for sometimes when she are a bit out in dressing. • I think Lina is now being recognised as a versatile actress!! From modern roles (Moment in Time, Love At Last,.....) to ancient roles (Legend Of White Hair Brides, Royal Battle Of the Wits, Legendary White Snake......) and from rebellious girl (Brave New World) to mature lady (Silver Lining), Lina can really bring out the roles given to her!! But just how many stars can do that???? Not many except for Zoe !!! Look at those Star Search contestants in the same year as her!!! Ivy Lee couldn't speak fluently and Ann Kok's acting is just moderate!!! However, these 2 gals (Ivy & Ann) share one similar character, that is they are trying to act sweet in front of the camera!!! How old are they now ???And they are still trying to bahave like teenage girls??? Sad to say, but I believe those fans who support Ivy and Ann are teenagers too!!!

• Ann Kok??? Ya! She's faked!! She's overall faked!!! Fr single to double eyelids, fr flat chest to a big boo boo, etc...etc...Wonder what is she trying to show to the pple out there??! One who is really talented don't req'd all these just to get recognised & famous. Whats more, she's just liked any ordinary gals out there, a lot of pple do not think that she looks like a STAR @ all -- an ordinary look, no outstanding features, so-so acting skills, karaoke kind of voice, nothing fantastic, she just DON'T HAVE THE LOOK !! Basically, it owes a lot to the make-up artistes and those chances offered. Not to forget abt her so-called album, yak!! QUOTE ("Her songs are so-so. But she sings horribly. She shouldn't sing.
