Stars:
Yeung Fan, Ti Lung, Cynthia Khan, Zhao Zhang Jun, Ngai Sing
- Director:
Sammo Hung
- Fight
Choreography: Sammo Hung
- 1993,
Hong Kong, Grand March Motion Picture Co.
- Complicated
and sentimantal plot that moves around Wong "Mighty Sword" Wu (Yeung
Fan) leader of the Black Flag army, who meats Tan (Ti Lung) who has some new
ideas to improve China and make it more equal and just.
-
- One
of the best new wave movies I've seen, superior to others in that it has more
real kung fu and is a high quality movie.
- The
main guy (Yeung Fan) is great, especially with the sword. If I'm not wrong,
this guy has small roles in "Fong Sai Yuk"
and "Tai Chi Master" with Jet Li.
- Zhao
Zhang Jun is very good too with his wushu, does some drunken swordplay and
is a good actor.
- For
the Sammo fans is a short cameo by him. Also a cameo from James Tien as a
Mongolian leader.
- All
the actors are all very skilled, but the wire use is quite silly at times
making people jump like they were in the moon. I think they use to much slo-mo
and speed-ups too. Except for this it's great having lots of kung fu forms
and fights and good acting.
