Two old masters (Sammo Hung, Lau Kar Wing) meet every ten years to se who’s the best fighter. Sammo uses the sword and Lau uses the spear. The fights always end in a draw, so the two masters decide to take pupils. Sammo plays the student of Lau, and Lau plays the student of Sammo. The way Sammo gets his student is rather daft and far-fetched.

 

Sammo is excellent as always, he's amazingly fast, but I mean really fast.

Lau is great too.

Leung Kar Yan is pretty good too as the villain.

Chan Lung and Karl Maka cameo as weapon masters at the beginning.

 

The movie has some of the greatest weapon fights I’ve seen, but the comedy was irritatingly silly, which was the unfortunate downside of it.

The fights are as good as they could be but in my opinion (don't hate me for this) some are to long. I don’t know, maybe I was in a bad mood or something when I saw it; so I may give it a higher rating the next time, but a 3,5 from me means "go and buy it!".

Anyway, you want to see great weapon fights watch this one, cause there are not many movies out there that have this kind of quality on their kung fu style weapons. Believe me, it's awesome!
