Captain Charles A. Jarvis - a brief autobiography

Captain Charles A. Jarvis was Master of the first American cargo ship to dock in the Japanese occupied city of Tacloban, Philippine Islands, when the allies returned in 1944. This Liberty ship, the S.S. Adoniram Judson, was Captain Jarvis' first command.

These are reduced size scans, from carbon copies, of official "after action" and damage reports prepared by Captain Jarvis in 1944/45. I could just have keyed in the text on these pages, but I thought you would be more interested in the original documents. They are kinda large, and take awhile to load; but when I read them chills run down my spine. Captain Jarvis, and the crew of the Judson epitimonize the type mariner that helped the United States win World War II.
