Routes around Bornholm

Route 5: Nexo - Snogebaek - Dueodde - Poulsker - Pedersker

The first stop of the fifth stage is in Nexo, the biggest fishing port on Bornholm. During sightseeing you should visit the shipyard, the watch-tower, the late-gothic Saint Nicolaus Church and two museums: Nexo Museum and Martin Andersen's Museum.

Going further south, on your way to Dueodde, there are three places worth visiting. In Gyret you can admire one of the biggest groups of ritualistic rocks on the island. A few kilometres away, in the woods, there is a monumental gothic church Bodilskirke built in 1612. You should not omit a charming fishing hamlet Snogebaek with beautiful thatched-roof houses. If you are lucky you could see one of Bornholm's flea-markets and maybe buy some interesting works of art.

You have already covered so many kilometres that you deserve a small rest and the best place for a rest is Dueodde beach. Blue sky, clear and waving sea, silvery white sand, the sun, and the wind make Dueodde one of the most beautiful places one can ever see in the world. What is even more important, this beach is not crowded as some other European ones - you will always find peaceful and quiet place for sunbathing.

To make the stay in Dueodde even more enjoyable you can have two short routes. In Poulsker there is a Romanesque church built in 1248 and in Pedersker one of the oldest Romanesque churches on Bornholm built in the middle of the 12th century. Both of them are well preserved and worth visiting.
