They 'knocked' us up before dawn for mimosas. This wasn't torture but to watch the sunrise as we sailed out of the bay at Bequoa.
It was beautiful sailing down to Tobago Cays, always a misty island to see. |

Snorkeling in Tobago Cays is my favorite spot to date. The sky was clear, so the sun penatrated into the depths.
Fish were plentiful and the coral was beautiful. Schools swam beneath me. I got sliced up by coral, but it wasn't bad. As Captain Kent says, "this is adventure cruising, it can hurt you." |
There were lots of fun things to do above water too.
Sunbathing, looking at the T-Shirt tree, photographing interesting shells. The cays are a protected ecological site, so all you can take home are memories. They even brought lunch ashore so we could have more time on the beach. |

After lunch, we made a short sail to Mayreau. A local band came aboard playing guitars and drums. We danced and watched the sunset.
After dark, we all went ashore for BBQ on the sand. The crew lit the site with flaming bottles which gave it a very intimate island feeling. I walked away from the lights and on the beach I could look up and see the Milky Way. |

Captain Kent led us on a cultural tour of Mayreau. The population is 247 and 5 bars. We walked up a very steep hill and had beers at most of the bars on the island.
I got tired and went back to the Clipper where Johnnie reigned as "Acting-Captain". He was beginning to repeat his jokes, so we would finish the punchlines for him. In the morning, we found him sleeping on deck. Some kind crew member had covered him up. |
