------------If you haven’t heard of Connected they are a sub group of Darkroom consisting of Duke, Crooked, and Low. Released in 1999, this cd is sort of forgotten with all the other cds Darkroom has released. This cd is almost never mentioned when it comes to tight work that Darkroom has done. But I think its some of the better work that has come out of the Darkroom.
___This cd has a ton of tight songs. Right from the start you know this with “Me, Myself & I” as this is a great song. Next is a great solo song by Duke “Kill Them Slowly”. This is my favorite song on the whole cd. Duke names off the people on his hit list and raps about what he is going to do to them. Just a great track. In fact it’s not until Dyno’s solo songs does the cd start to slow down in terms of quality. “11 Years” is no where near as good as other songs that Dyno has done. This is a disappointment as Dyno usually comes tight solo but not this time. Other highlights include “Fuck Me, No Fuck You”, “No Love”, and “Did It For The Paper” as these are the best of the best from the second half of the cd.
___The complaints are far and few between for this cd. For the most part all the songs on this cd are good and worthy of being on this cd. Songs like “11 Years”, “You Can’t Fill Our Shoes”, and “Money Talks” aren’t really bad, but compared to the rest of the cd they are the worst of the bunch. This cd starts off strong and keeps it up, for the most part, throughout the cd. Duke, Crooked, and Low all give tight performances. And Duke takes top honors for being the best of them. He comes with two solo songs and one of them is the best song on the cd (“Kill Them Slowly”). Include good guest appearances from Dyno, A.L.G., and DJ MT and you have another classic Darkroom cd.
