------------This is the notorious Darkroom release that at one time was banned from being sold due to its explicit gang-related themes. But that was a while go as this cd can be purchased at any retail store. So what is all the fuss about? Well this cd is filled with gang related references and stories about killing scraps. But does that mean this will be a good cd?
___This cd starts off with an intro with Dyno talking about the problems that Darkroom has been going through and what’s coming soon. Then we are hit with the first song “I’m A Gunner”. This is a decent track but nothing special. The cd really starts getting good with the third song “This Slug’s 4 U”. This is a really good song with a nice beat. Next is “Retaliation” which is another tight song dealing with the killing of scraps. Lowdown makes an appearance on the song after, “It’s Lowdown”. This song has a really tight beat with pretty good lyrics. The next good song is “Out Of Line”. Low, Duke, and Dyno all have good verses of this track. And when they aren’t talking about rival gangs then they rapping about cops. “Die U Fuckin Pig” talks about what the title says, killing cops. This is one of the best tracks on the cd. The chorus is funny on this song as it just repeats “Die U Fuckin Pig”. Lowdown shows up again on “Haunt U” and brings another above average track.
___There aren’t many downsides to this cd. The only bad song is “Roosevelt Parke” but its only about 2 minutes so it at least you don’t have to listen to the wack lyrics for that long. With 11 songs in all and only one bad song there isn’t much of a downside. All the songs are at least decent, with some much better than others. But in the end you should be satisfied with this cd. As long as you don’t mind lots of references of killing scraps this cd is a good purchase.
