Darkroom Familia - "Homicide Kingz"

Date: 9/30/00

------------With Darkroom releasing a ton of albums this year, everyone has been waiting for the next official Darkroom Familia release, since we haven’t heard Darkroom Familia as a group since “Veteranos”. With Darkroom members old and new on this cd, you are sure to hear you favorites on here. And though its been a while since we have heard a Darkroom cd, I am sure you will be surprised. I was.
___This cd starts off the right way with “This Is Darkroom” featuring Dyno and Oso. Both spit tight rhymes back and forth all with a tight beat done by J-Loc. Then you are hit with a Darkroom posse cut, “Every City That We Hit” with 6 rappers on one song. Of course this song is great. And only two songs later we are hit with yet another posse song, “ Homicide Kingz” and its just as tight as the first one. From there on, you get songs ranging from solo songs to 2 or 3 people per a song. And they are all tight. Newest Darkroom members Sapo and J-Loc show you what to expect with “Darken Skies”. With a really tight, dark beat, J-Loc, Sapo, and Sidewayz all hold their own on this track. This track definitely showcases the new talent Darkroom has acquired. And in case you thought that Lowdown wasn’t with Darkroom anymore, “Still Darkroom” will erase any doubts you have as Never and Lil Wyno show up rapping alongside Dyno and A.L.G. With a Spanish sounding beat, this song reminds you that Never and Lil Wyno haven’t went anywhere even though they may be on a different label. “Murder Night” is another collaboration between A.L.G. and Dyno and keeps up the high standards this cd set. You can’t forget about the solo songs with Duke, Crooked, Dyno, A.L.G., and J-Loc all having one. “Fuck My Enemies” is your typical Duke track, violent and tight as fuck. “Sick Of It All” will bring you back to Crooked’s solo cd “Violence Solves Everything” as it has the same vibe. Crooked, like always, doesn’t disappoint. A.L.G.’s “You Know How We Ride” is tight but ultimately too short.
___With this cd, Darkroom has brought their level up one. With only 12 tracks there is no room for weak tracks and this cd doesn’t have one. With tight beats and even tighter rhymes, I can’t find much to complain about. Some songs may be better than others, but in the end they are all tight. This is the best work Darkroom has done as a group and any fan should enjoy this cd to the max. DogDay must be pissed seeing what they let go. I can’t wait to hear what’s next from the Darkroom Familia.
