------------DRF has struck gold with this cd. DRF's landmark soundtrack cd is awesome. Coming from their own film of the same name, this cd was released in 1998. With 19 tracks, almost everyone is on this cd, such as Never, Lil Wyno, and Sir Dyno. They come together in an unrivaled blend of beats and lyrics. It is norteņo rap at its very best.
___Undoubtedly as with the movie, the cd deals with money, dope, and hos. It might sound like any other cd, but its not. The way the lyrics come together with the beats and sound effects on some tracks is rare. Even the way the tracks are positioned on this cd is awesome. Songs 1 and 2, "Reservoir Dogs" and "Marijuana Dreamz", are two of the best songs. The first one is almost in total contrast with the second (as far as styles and beats), but by having them side by side, the cd chnages the mood of the rapping and creates a tight scheme that follows through to the end of the cd. Because of this, you can listen all the way through and its like listening to a few cds. Other good songs include "Wild West Coast", "A-1 Chocha", and "Pentitentiary Chances". Spanish influence is noticable on many songs and only adds to the cd.
___Being tight all the way through and having a distinctly West Coast sound, "Pentitentiary Chances" is one of the best Darkroom Familia cds ever. The rhymes are tight and the beats flow nicely. It may be difficult to find (unless you are on the west coast), but if you find it, pick this cd up.
