Natas - "Wicket Worldwide Wide.COM"

------------Natas is moving to new territory. Released twice after "Mail Dominance" (1999), the first and second versions are pretty much the same, with the exception that the first version's title letters are red and the second one's is purple. In addition to the regular cd, the second version comes with an ep which contains 3 old and 1 new ("Morty's Theme") Esham and Natas songs. "WWW.COM" itself, however, shows a new side side of Natas. The beats are different than that of past Natas cds. Even though the subject matter isn't, the beats give the whole cd a laid back feeling and it is actually relaxing. Making this a cd of the technological times are the internet sound effects which make the cd seem to fit with people's lives today. These effects, coupled with the Roman Numerals and old map of the world, add to the cd's overall effect of bringing old together with new.
___Natas' old sound is by no means completely out of the picture. The new and old come together in songs like "Telly Savales" and "Kill Me". The lyrics remain at the top of the best of Natas'. Since this remains a constant throughout many of their cds (and all the songs on this one), each one should be rated on the beats that accompany it. The bass and sound effects stay tight throughout WWW and seem to be leading to a change in the future. The old and new are categorically implemented throughout, such as when the internet noises lead into some solid beats. There is a song that deviates from any former Natas sound, "Cancun", in which there is a girl talking in broken spanish and the music is something thats almost from a resort. The song isn't bad, just completely unexpected. Other awesome songs that can be expected from Natas are "Oriental Spas" (my personal favorite), "Metropolis", "WWW.COM", "Levitation" and "Funeral Parlor".
___Remaining tight on both lyrics and beats, this cd will not dissapoint if you like Natas' style. Having been released twice, this one should be easy to find. It is original Natas at its best and should not be passed up at any cost.
