-------------The only thing that's going on at Boomin' Words From Portsmouth right now is progress. There is so much going on and so much planned that it almost makes up for the inactive summer.
As many of you saw on the main page, The Interview with Sapo of the Darkroom Familia is now up. We would like to thank Sapo for his collaboration with us. The Crooked interview has been up for almost two months and continues to inform people about the Darkroom.
On somewhat related news, we are in the works right now with Sicx for an interview. Look for that before the the end of the month. We have also been in contact with Doomsday Productions and Overture Music, which is in affiliation with Esham and Natas, and we might be seeing some interviews with them in the near future, although nothing is guaranteed at this point.
Speaking of Esham, his project-in-the-works, "Toungues", which had been rumored to be out later this year, now looks to be released sometime in 2001. The reson for the delay seems to have been the busy touring schedule he had during the summer. Also, the new Mastamind solo, "THEMINDZI" (pronounced like The Mind's Eye), has a release date of October 24th of this year. You can bet that if it is released nationwide on TvT, the review for it right here on Boomin' will be up before the end of the year.
Here are the track listings (up to now) for that cd:

  • 1. What's Up
  • 2. Themindzi
  • 3. Thug World
  • 4. Forever
  • 4. RLP
  • 5. Neva Die
  • 6. Nite & Day
  • 7. Liquor Store
  • 8. Detroit
  • 9. Pay Me (Million Dollar Dreams)
  • 10. X
  • 11. Warrior
  • 12. Reckless
  • 13. Worship the Wicket
  • 14. Deep or Dolo
  • 15. I'm Flyin

The Easter Egg is complete. It will be updated, too.
As for some changes I had mentioned a while back, those will probably not be implemented for a while, as some kinks still have to be worked out of the system on which I am developing them on. However, when they are up, look for easier navigation and easy access to specific cd reviews.
Until then, enjoy the interviews and reviews that are up now. Don't forget to check the Links Page every once in w hile because try to add a little something to it about every month, or so. Also, see if you can find the Easter Egg. Here's my list of old...I'm out...

  • 1. "Losing My Religion" (Judgement Day Vol.1)...Esham
  • 2. "Valley Allstars"(Show No Mercy)...Never
  • 3. "[Gang Violence is Escalating]" (Valley of Death)...Lowdown of the Darkroom Familia
  • 4. "[Ghetto voices in my head got me doin dirt...]" (1990-Hate)...Young Droop

-------------The grind of the summer months are tough, but something kind of big is coming. You will see it when it is ready, just be on the lookout for something new.
Also be on the search for a South Park Mexican review, possibly in the Various West Coast section. Some more DRF should be rolling in, as well as some more Sac-Town material.
Also, as some of you may remember, there was once something on this site that was a live radio station that could transmit through any mp3 program. Possibly be on the lookout for that in the future, when exactly, I couldn't say.
Well, thats pretty much it for now. Just keep checking back, about once a week would be a safe bet, to see start seeing Boomin' renewed and updated (I know that it is getting a little stale now...) Either way, here's my list, with some old favorites back up on there:

  • 1. "No Singing/No Misery" (KKKill The Fetus)...Esham
  • 2. "[Gang Violence is Escalating]" (Valley of Death)...Lowdown of the Darkroom Familia
  • 3. "Plant Zero" (Planet Zero)...First Degree the D.E.
  • 4. "[Ghetto voices in my head got me doin dirt...]" (1990-Hate)...Young Droop
  • 5. "Recognize A Playa" (1990-Hate)...Young Droop

-------------Bruce Wayne and myself took a month off, partly because I was away on vacation and Bruce Wayne is in the middle of moving. Once we get into August/September, the reviews will start to flow in as they have in the past. I am glad, however, to see that the site has grown in terms of hits and visits since mid-June. This is in part thanks to Crooked's interview, which drew in and informed a large crowd about Boomin'. Thanks Crooked.
On some unrelated news, this page is looking to get an updated style. It will be categorized by months.
The Easter Egg is 80% completed and will be up by August 10th.
Also, all the reviews pages are going to be getting updated on a much more regular basis than now, with some duplicate reviews coming in, just so you can see what Bruce Wayne and I think of the same cd, as we don't the exact same tastes in music.
That's all for now, but keep coming and checking us out. Here's my list. Peace out:

  • 1. "Recognize A Playa" (1990-Hate)...Young Droop
  • 2. "[Gang Violence is Escalating]" (Valley of Death)...Lowdown of the Darkroom Familia
  • 3. "Reservoir Dogs" (Penitentiary Chances)...DRF
  • 4. "Killa Instinctz" (1990-Hate)...Young Droop
  • 5. "Mysterious Ways" (Life After Death)...Natas 1
