-------------The last review was done last night really late, like at 1 am. Enough about me, though, because the real reason why I'm writing on this again is because the Crooked interview is up now. Click here to go to it. It is very insightful and contains a lot of information.
On another note, Bruce Wayne hasn't written in a while because he was here in Myrtle Beach visiting me. I'm sure that as soon as he gets back on track, Boomin' will be running full steam ahead. Until then, look over the present reviews that are up and some new ones that will be up in the very near future. I'm obviously not going to do the list because it is the same as this morning's. Later...

-------------For some reason, the best cds are being shipped out to the place where they are not gonna be appreciated greatly: South Carolina. In a recent trip to C-Town ((Charleston), the Boomin' Staff discovered an untapped resource for rare cds. Some we could barely find online and some have been out of print for a while, yet a place called Manifest had an extensive collection, including P-Folks, Loki, an extremely rare Sicx cd, along with a wide variety of Darkroom Familia cds. As if that weren't enough, in a city guide type of newpaper, an advertisement for the Esham concert appeared. Don't ask how or why, because I didn't. I personally thought that moving to Myrtle Beach, or South Carolina in general, would leave me with a very limited selection of mainstream rap, if I was lucky. As it turns out, the best cd store Boomin' Words has ever visited turned out to be close by, again, Manifest. Not only was their selection seemingly out of place and rare, but the prices were rock bottom: all the cds about 13.99.
Well that's that, but the good news doesn't stop there. Recently, Boomin' Words has been in contact with a couple of members from Darkroom Familia, Sapo and Crooked, the latter agreeing to an interview with Boomin' which will up as soon as it is ready. I won't say any more, so just look on the main page for its link soon.
The good news didn't stop before, but it stops here. The Esham concert I was supposed to go to in C-Town was cancelled. Apparently ICP's record company had a few differences with Esham so he got off the tour. There is another tour in the works, but that won't be for another 15 days or so and no stops are scheduled in or near C-Town, or near Myrtle Beach for that matter. Anyway, here is the flyer in that C-Town city guide I mentioned before:
Well, that about does it for now. Remember to go into the message board and post your ideas and thoughts. The easter egg is 50% complete. Here is my list, with a few new faces on it. Later:

-------------To everyone that has been coming into Boomin', you have probably seen that the page hasn't been updated for about a month, now. Things should be kicking into high gear soon and we have some pages to complete and some to update, because it is very much needed: The Esham/Natas page is about done, with only 2 more full cds and only a few ep's to review. This page (Opinions) should be getting updated more regularly than once or twice a month, with the ideal being for at least once a week. As Bruce Wayne mentioned, the Darkroom Familia page needs serious vamping and the reviews should quadrouple, or at least triple, before the end of July. This is in part thanks to an expected surge in availability of Darkroom cds here in Myrtle Beach. As you may or may not know, half of the Boomin' Words From Portsmouth staff now lives in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Nothing will change, or at least no changes are expected.
Also, the Sac-Town and Various West Coast pages will be getting hit up in the comming summer months.
Well, that about does it for now, except for the easter egg that will be up soon maybe.
Just keep checking back in for updates and any questions or rumors related to any music e-mail them in or post them up on the Boomin Board, that doesn't seem to be too popular. Here's my usual list..

-------------In case you haven't noticed the website hasn't been updated recently. But that will all change soon as I have just been so damn busy as of late I haven't found anytime. I'm sure Serr Dyno will have plenty of time to update the site now that he has moved to South Carolina and has nothing better to do. So expect so major updates in the reviews area, especially in the Darkroom section.
After all the controversy of Brotha Lynch Hung's "EBK4" and how Black Market had taken an unfinshed version from him and he didn't want anyone to support it, the new word coming from the man himself is to buy it. I guess Brotha Lynch Hung realized that it is a bad business move to tell his own fans not to support his music. Expect that cd to get delayed once again so I will not even bother putting up a release date. Also I got the new X-Raided/Nefarious cd "Speak Of Da Devil" and must say I am a little disappointed. Look for the review on that one soon.
After the recent falling out with DogDay records, Darkroom Familia has continued to release a bunch of records in the recent months. Duke and Crooked have both released solo cd's entitled "Kill Them Slowly" and "Violence Solves Everything"(I have ordered both of these cd's and I should be picking them up later today). ALG has also released a new cd " Right To Remain Violent". And it doesn't stop there as cd's from Oso "Who Can I Trust", Sir Dyno "What Have I Become", and a new Darkroom cd "Homicide Kings" should be hitting stores sometime soon. It looks like this summer won't be lacking as it seems like the Darkroom Familia shoud be releasing at least one cd a month. Never and Dj M.T. have also just released some cds but they are on DogDay records. Never's cd is "Show No Mercy" and Dj M.T.'s cd is a double and is called "1 Bullet 4 U" and contains his first cd "Brown, Sick, And Wicked". I'm not sure what the status is with Never and Dj M.T. and Darkroom anymore since Darkroom left DogDay because DogDay was fucking them over for money and Never and Dj M.T. are still with DogDay. Also look out for a new LowDown cd, a Never & Young Droop cd, a new Lil Wyno cd, and a double Minority Milita cd all coming out in the near future.
Anyway reviews should start being updated by the end of June as I am going on vacation for a week and then after that things should be back to normal. Look for reviews of Sir Dyno "Chicano Chronicles", "Veteranos", Minority Militia "Crimal Netwrok", "Blood And Tears",Crooked "Violence Solves Everything", Duke "Kill Them Slowly",and Nefarious "Speak Of Da Devil". And hopefully Serr Dyno will review some more cds. Until then just keep on coming to the site.

-------------The main topic of this weeks opinion is going to be the rediscovery of Esham’s “Mail Dominance”. But before I get to that I will discuss some other things first. Amazingly I haven’t purchased any cds from the last time I wrote. I think that is going to end soon as I am looking at getting the Killa Tay “Mr.Mafioso” and South Park Mexican, I forgot the name of the cd but its a double. I think by the end of the week I should have both of them.
Now some news about the site. If you haven’t noticed by now the site is getting a couple hits a day at the moment and that’s not bad considering what it used to be. I still think we have the potential to get more hits but as for now this pace will due. I’m not sure what cd I will be reviewing next but it will probably be Esham “Detriot Dogshit”. Also Serr Dyno should be finishing up his reviews for Esham “Judgement Day Vol.1&2” and First Degree’s “Planet Zero”. Then again he never gets anything done when he tells me he will so expect those to be up at the earliest by the end of the month. Pictures of Serr Dyno and myself should be taken soon as I have to remind Serr Dyno about it and take them before he leaves. But then again who ever reads this, if anybody, could really give two fucks.
“Mail Dominance” is one cd I’m sure that has been debated among Esham fans if its really any good. Who would have ever thought to hear Esham rapping to beats from the 50s? I could have never saw that. Or how about some weird sounding space ship shit sound effects? Or dance beats? This are all things that any Esham fan would almost consider a disaster. Who can forget the first time they heard “Closed Casket” or “Doubelievengod”? This are perfect examples of Esham at his best. I mean “Bruce Wayne Gothom City 1987” was different but who would have saw what was next to come?
The first time I heard “Mail Dominance” I was pissed off. I can remember the day I was out with my friends and was going to pick up “Mail Dominance” since “Closed Casket” was so awesome. Up until then “Closed Casket” was the only Esham cd I had heard, which was due to the fact the only Esham cds that are easy to find are “Closed Casket” and “Mail Dominance”. Anyway back to the story. I was so hyped to listen to a new Esham cd and was telling my friends who had never heard Esham before how wicked his shit is and that he is the best. The first song “We Cumin For U” is that classic Esham. After hearing that I was expecting it to get only harder. Man was I wrong. After the first track nothing is like you would expect it. I just sat in my car wondering what the fuck happened to Esham. Could this be the same Esham that I had made “Closed Casket”? At the moment I thought this was probably one of the weakest cds I had ever heard. I couldn’t even listen to more than maybe 2 of the songs on the whole cd. “Mail Dominance” had a permanent stay in its spot on the cd shelf. I even listened to it again to see if maybe it was the day or something but the same thought came into my mind: THIS IS PURE SHIT.
Months later. Almost all Esham and Natas cds have been purchased. I can’t stop listening to anything Esham puts out, expect “Mail Dominance”. In fact for about 4 months I might have listened to “Mail Dominance” once, if that. Then one day Serr
Dyno asks to borrow it so he can review it because I told him I don’t want to review it since that would require me to listen to it. So I let Serr Dyno borrow it. A few days later we are at Serr Dyno’s house playing video games and since he hasn’t heard much of it we decide to listen to it. Then I started to notice something, this cd really isn’t that bad. In fact we listened to the whole thing. And I must say I was surprised. I couldn’t wait to get it back so I could listen to it. I liked about half the songs on it which was a whole lot better than before.
Today(5/7/00): I can now say I was completely wrong about this cd. This is as good as his earlier cds and better than some. After hearing some more of it last night in Tom’s car I have found some songs that I over looked. “Ah Ha” and “Obiest” would have been pieces of shit months before are now tight songs. You must wonder how a cd can suck and then all of a sudden be tight? Well unless you gave a cd a real chance then you can’t really say it sucks. Unfortunately I never gave “Mail Dominance” a chance and for about 8 months thought it was shit. But now I see its awesome. The lyrics are Esham’s best yet and the beats are so different than anything else anyone has ever made. So for any Esham fan out there who has heard from people just like me how shitty this cd is just ignore them and pick it up. And don’t just listen to it once and declare its horrible. Trust me after hearing it a few times you will see what I am talking about. For anyone out there who said this cd sucked all I got to say is give it another listen and open up your mind. Then tell me you think this cd is wack.
