-------------Here I am again. You probably have noticed that the page hasn't really been updated in almost a month. I guess we both decided to take some time off, busy with school and stuff, I imagine. We will come back right after the New Year with a few surprises, including an interview. We will definitely have some new reviews up by the end of January, though, because there is a Manifest run that's gonna happen the second week of January. Be on the look out for that.
___Also don't forget that our one year anniversary is the 18th, so check back with us before then, as we will definitely be having some sort of special event going on.
___Well, I have to go back and enjoy the warm sun (I'm in the Dominican Republic right now) and we'll see you soon. Peace.

-------------I'm back up in this, updating from school, like I have done before. As of right now, I'm listening to the new X-Raided, making sure that I have enough thoughts to make a review. I must say, this cd si tight as fuck, so far. On first impression, it didn't seem as appealing as because of the beats. But then, on a second listen, the entire package just seemed tighter, for some reason. Further exposure to it revealed that it is almost as good, if not better, than Raided's best work to date, "The Unforgiven, Vol. 1". The appeal of this cd to people who have never heard Raided or BLH in the past seem to like the beats a lot. It amazed me when a lot of people said that it was good, friends of mine who have never liked any of the music I play in my car. I'll explain more when I do the review in a few days.
___Speaking of reviews, we have a "Helter Skkkelter" review of the Esham's ep thanks to Bruce Wayne. That will be up later today, if not tomorrow, as we don't want to saturate the page too much at a time.
___Sooner of later we'll be getting another large load of DRF reviews, hopefully of some of the movies too, as arrangements have been made to hook up with such titles as "Blood and Tears" and movies like "Veteranos". I'll speak more on this when I have more information.
___Well, that's it from me. Next time I update it will be with the new "Vengeance is Mine" review. See you then.

-------------Yesterday was the release date of the new X-Raided cut, "Vengeance is Mine". A review will be up shortly, but some info for you in the mean time: 15 tracks, 1 intro, 1 outro. A few noticable people on a few tracks, such as Dott Dogg and Luni Coleone. So far it sounds pretty good, but I was listening to it on the shitty system I have in my car. I will listen to it fully through in the coming days and a review will be up definitely before the end of next week. I will try as much as possible to have it done by this Sunday, but my hectic schedule might not allow this.
___Also out recently were the new First Degree the D.E. as well as a new Lowdown. We, here on this coast, probably won't be getting them for a while, probably not 'till the MANIFEST run in January. We might just be planning somehting special for that, since it will be our one year anniversary. Be on the look out for an announcement of that.
___Well, thats it from me. I am going to go write a Luniz review. Check that out in the West Coast Section. I'm out.

-------------Its been a while since I have updated you all with some news. I got some interesting news to tell you all about but I’ll get to that later. If you haven’t noticed, there is a new review in the Darkroom section,“Veteranos”, so go check that out if you haven’t already. Reviews should be coming more frequently now and maybe Serr Dyno will also be doing some more reviews. We are also trying to hook up some interviews but I won’t mention any names as time will tell but be on the look out as these could be some major names.
___ First off I have some Darkroom news coming straight from an inside source. If you thought Darkroom released a lot of cds this year just wait until next year as Sir Dyno, Duke, and Crooked are all working hard on their next solo’s. It is also rumored that Crooked and Duke might do a album together but that’s not official but keep your hopes up because that would be a one of the most anticipated cds of the year. Darkroom is also planing on releasing several new movies for next year and are promised to be better than ever. Speaking of Darkroom if you pick up the new issue of Murder Dog you can read an interview with Sir Dyno and Never of Lowdown. Both contain good info. about the future of Darkroom and Lowdown records. Also in the new issue are interviews with Jake the Flake, C-Bo, and Richie Rich to name a few. But compared to other issues of late this one is a little weak but for all you underground fans this will provide a good fix for now.
___ Also make sure to check out that new Mastamind cd as its more of that Detroit sound with a little twist by Mastamind. I wouldn’t put it up there with other RLP classics but its worth the money for all you Natas fans. Also coming out next month is a video from Gothom Over-Core with appearances from Esham/Natas and also Ghetto E of the Dayton Family. Speaking of Ghetto E, he is planning to release his new cd on Gothom Over-Core early next year so check that out. And speaking of video’s, Brotha Lynch Hung’s Siccmade Music has put together a movie entitled “Now Eat” so if you see it, pick it up. Well that’s it for now but be on the look out for more updates.

-------------Today, as I said yesterday, "THEMINDZI" was supposed to come out. Fortunately, the store I had in mind did get it. The fuck ups that work there, though, didn't even have it out in the rap section and instead had to go get it in the back. Luckily, I got there as soon as I could because TvT had only sent the store two copies. Ridiculous.
___At any rate, I will only give a brief overview of my feelings for the cd, with a review coming up in a few short days.
Overall, it was a little different than what I expected. I was waiting for the classic Natas sound of old, but I was a little surprised at what I encountered. Not that this is a bad thing, it is just a little different than any work I have ever heard Mastamind do. This can probably be accounted for by the fact that the guy from Overcore who works closely with Natas now, Santos, had a large sphere of influence over the direction of the cd, as all the songs are written and produced by him and Mastamind. Either way, it should be noted that this cd is 54 minutes long, far from the 70+ minutes I have become accustomed to on other full length Esham/Natas. There are 16 tracks, with 3 being skits; 13 full songs in all. Coincidently, what comes across as being one of the best songs on the cd, "Reckless", is the 13th song on the cd. The single that has already been on the internet, or clips form it anyway, "Forever", is also one of the better songs on the cd. Esham and, again, Santos, are listed as additional vocals on the cd as well.
___I would have to stop it here, as I have only listened to the cd 1 and a half times through, and don't want to give any bad impression I may have gotten from a first impression of the cd. Also, outside factors, as me being sicc, as it is the season for it, may contribute to an incomplete and/or false sentiments toward this cd. As soon as I get over this siccness, I will properly listen to and review this cd, hopefully by tomorrow and at the very latest by Friday.
___On a Mastamind related note, Bruce Wayne, as he will undoubtedly comment about, now has some animosity toward the Newport Police Department. It seems that he went to the Music Box to retrieve a never-delivered copy of "THEMIDZI", when the parking meter had run out. That's all I will say about that, as I'm sure that he will elaborate later on.
___Well, I'm done. I'm gonna go check up on the hits to the site, seeing how it is growing by leaps and bounds, and update the main page. You'll here from me later on in the week in the form of a review of this latest release from Detroit. Check back later. Peace.

-------------The weeks and months of waiting will finally culminate tomorrow as the brand new Mastamind cd, "THEMINDZI", comes out on the 24th. Hopefully TvT, the distribution company that Mastamind and the rest of Natas now use, will come through and release the cd nationwide without any delays. You can count on me getting that cd promptly at 2:15 at Camelot Music, the best store for Esham/Natas cds around the Myrtle Beach area. They have every TvT release of the artists at hand (excluding the Esham singles and ep's, like "Helter Skkkelter" and "Erotic Poetry" as they were never re-released). Nevertheless, I am confident that they will have the new cd tomorrow.
___As for Bruce Wayne, he will probably write one of these tomorrow, stating whether or not he foudn the cd back in Portsmouth. From past experiences, he will most likely find it at the Music Box in Newport on the day of the release, and then it will eventually be found at Coconut's/Strawberries.
___I assume our friend Duffy will go with Bruce Wayne to pick up a copy of his own, otherwise he will copy it from Bruce Wayne.
___Well, that's about it from me until tomorrow. I will write up again tomorrow to let you know if it came out and what my initial impressions out. This may just be the most anticipated release of the year. Peace out.

-------------As you may have noticed if you came in through the front door, there have been some changing around of the colors. The "official" Boomin' colors are still in use, just a different sequence. This will spread rapidly throughout the entire site in the coming weeks.
___Also, the DRF section, as has been noted on the main page, has been updated for the third consecutive week, almost overtaking the Esham/Natas page, so far as amount of reviews are concerned. It was just a short time ago that the DRF page only had 2 reviews up, "Valley of Death" and "Penitentiary Chances". Now there are 10 reviews and all have something more to add to the alure of the Darkroom.
___In other news, no one has found the Easter Egg.
___Moving on, the Sac-Town page should be getting more reviews added to it in the coming weeks and that has already started with the review of BLH's "EBK4", courtesy of Bruce Wayne.
___The message board (Boomin' Board) has finally started to get some recognition. Don't be afraid to post up on it, as its gaining popularity will make it one of the hottest sections of the site.
___Well, that about does it for now. So look for the change in colors on all the different pages, more reviews in a few sections (including, maybe, a surprise reviewer sometime soon), and at least one new interview a month. See you later.

-------------These next few months are going to big in terms of releases as many artists are releasing cds. Expect to see releases from Mastamind, Brotha Lynch Hung, First Degree The D.E., and of course new Darkroom stuff. I can already see that coming Christmas I am sure to be low on money.
___ First Degree The D.E. is going to be releasing his thrid solo album "Damn The D.E." on Sept. 24. This should be a good cd as First Degree is always refreshing to hear with his orinal style. Also coming from the Siccmade Family is the soundtrack of their new movie "Now Eat". Though I don't know who exactly is going to be on it, it's a safe bet that Brotha Lynch, Sicx, Loki, First Degree, and the rest of the Siccmade Family should all make appearances. I think its coming out around Halloween but I am not certain, and with all Siccmade releases expect it to be delayed. Also coming from Siccmade is Zagg's "Hell In August" and COS's "Siccmade Rituals".
___ We should be hearing more of Natas's Mastamind with his second solo album coming out Oct.24 (I think). I don't know what to really expect from this but it should be tight. Overture records has also signed Ghetto E of the Dayton Family so expect to see a solo album from him in the coming months. It seems that the oringal date of Esham's Tounges, Sept., has been delayed and we won't be hearing his new one until 2001 now.
___ Darkroom seems to be keeping their trend of releasing a shit load cds with three new ones coming out soon. Both Dub's "My Way Or The Die Way" and a new Brown Area cd "Power N Numbers" are being released on Oct.10. Also coming from Darkroom in Oct. is N.K.A. "Northern Killa4nia Assassins" which is a group that consisits of A.L.G., Nightmare, and Konflikt. This looks like it could be the best of the bunch and I am really looking forward to getting my hands on this one. I'm sure Nov. and Dec. should have a few more releases from Darkroom in time for the Holidays.
___ That about does it for now in terms of news. I'm sure I forget to mention a few cds that are coming out but for the most part, these are going to be the hot cds in the coming months. The website should also be getting updated more often as there are a lot of Darkroom reviews coming and maybe some other stuff that I can't mention at the moment. And make sure to check out the message board and tell us what you think of the site and join the mailing list so we can keep you updated with all the news and reviews you will need.

-------------I'm back in this piece. We've broken the 1000 mark and things just keep moving along. In addition to almost having a couple of new interviews up, the long awaited Los Traficantes "Matan Mi Gente" review is up. Once we get a few more reviews and an interview or two more done, the new menu format is going to go up. Thanks to this, the site might just be a little easier to move around in. It is a java based menu and it has been made so that you will be able to jump to the first review of a particular artist on the page where their cds are reviewed. If it sounds confusing, it will be clear when it is put up.
___Speaking of reviews and things related, you might see a new face reviewing a few cds. Don Mega has already made one review of hopefully many that he will contribute to Boomin' Words From Portsmouth. Check out his first review, of Doomsday Production's "Pray 4 Me", when you go into the Various West Coast Reviews page. He should add yet another perspective to the already varied views of cds and artists.
___The Easter Egg hasn't been found by many.
___That's about it for this week. Look forward to those interviews and a few new reviews here and there. Also, this page might be broken up by months or something like that.
___Usually, I would say "here is my list", but I will now discontinue my list of 5 songs I have been listening to lately. I will reinstitute it at a later date, however. The main reason for this discontinuation is that I listen to music differently now. It might be back, however, sooner than you would expect.
Until next time. 1
