Yukmouth - "Thugged Out: The Albulation"

------------Yukmouth has hooked up with down south record label Rap-A-Lot Records on this cd. People may be wondering if he can hold his own without Knumskull since this is his first solo venture. Well I must say that Yuk doesn't need any help on this cd, he can hold his own. This cd is like the Luniz ones, but its a little more thuggish. Its got the Luniz sound but its harder. You'll be able to tell after listening to the first track.
___This cd consist of 28 tracks and has only 1 skit. Right from the beginning you are hit with some raw tracks. Yuk definitely has made this cd more street than the Luniz one's. Most of his subject matter is typical gangsta rap, drugs, money, and hoes. But don't think that just because his you have heard this before that this cd isn't worth buying because its off the hook. His also gets a little personal on " Father Like Son" in which he talks about how he is going to raise his son just like himself. Also on the track "Revelationz" he talks about his troubles growing up and losing his Mom and Dad. He even has a track dedicated to Tupac ("Still Ballin"). There is also sequel to the classic NWA song " Just Don't Bite It" called " Stallion." This track features Tech 9ne and original NWA member Mc Ren.
___As with all double cd's there is a lot of material on here and I'm sorry to say there are some filler tracks. The first cd has nothing but tight tracks with no filler at all. But unfortunately I can't say the same about the second cd. I'm not saying its bad but compared to the first cd it is definitely lacking. I think it would have been better if Yuk had made it single cd with all tracks off the first cd and added " Sad Millionaire," " Falling," " Mackin vs. Pimpin," and the Rap-A-Lot posse cut "RAL Mafia" from the second cd. As it stands this is one of the best cd's of 1999 but if it was only a single cd it would have been one of the best cd's of all time. Still if you like the Luniz then you should pick it up or if you have 20 dollars you should at least consider it next time you go to the record store. I'm sure you will be happy.
