Coming down from the Haast Pass along the Haast River brought us to the
Westcoast and the Tasman Sea. Typically there are many trails to walk either along the
beach or in the rainforest. |

A walk at the edge of an estuary and rainforest gave us the opportunity to
understand the unique flora and fauna of this coast. |
At one stop we were buzzed by several cheeky Fantails. This one sat still only
just long enough for me to push the shutter button. |

New Zealand's Golden Gate Bridge, except this one is one lane wide. Most of the
bridges we've gone over in South Island are one lane. One side or the other is expected to
'Give Way'. Either way, approaching a bridge means slowing down. |
