Day 3. Strong currant

01/06/2004 Tuesday

Mahadi took us island hoping. First stop is the Redang Marine Park. Most of the coral here has been destroy. There’s one old sunken ship a few meters away from the shore. The ship looks close by the shore and I decided to venture there alone to take some picture. Bad decision!! After swimming close to the ship I realize that the current is getting very strong now. I started to panic when the tide tries to pull me to the middle of the ocean. I cry for help but nobody can hear me. At this point I know that nobody is coming for my rescue. I swim as hard as I can to the nearest rock. Luckily I managed to grab hold on a rock and pull myself out of the water. I had burses and scratches while trying to climb on the rock. Finally I am on safe ground. I learn my lesson now and I will not do it again! Thanks you god for sparing my life.

Later we headed to Pulau Lima and Pulau Paku. Again most of the coral has been destroy. Saw some clown fish swimming by the anemone. Ooh.. Ahh.. Everybody was so excited to see that fish which made popular by the Finding Nemo movie. Chagar Hutang has the best coral reef. That night we release the turtle hatchlings. They have been kept in a plastic container for three days now since we arrived. They rush to the sea as soon as they are release. Yipee! We are free! May you guys have a safe journey to the deep blue sea and return to Chagar Hutang some day.

Seven turtles nested on that night. Almost one in the morning, we were sleeping on the beach. One turtle craw nearby the place we were sleeping. I got to see how the turtle move on land at a very close distant. That is so amazing.
