AGUA AZUL

After a longish drive through the jungle we arrive in Agua Azul, a beautifully blue and very loud river with big waterfalls. I walk around a bit, taking pictures and enjoying some time alone, but soon run into Ace, Marc, Andy and Mel sitting at a table drinking Coronas. So of course I can't let them drink without me!!! Stay there for at least two hours talking and telling each other our life stories.
Mel, Andy and I don't make it back to the bus until after dark - the moon has just risen and there is only one star shining brightly in the still blue sky. It looks unbelievable. I won't ever forget this moment with my two buddies!
We have a late dinner and most of us fall into bed (or hammocks) pretty exhausted from the long day and the altitude - the sound of the river lulls everybody into a deep sleep.

In the morning all refreshed after a healthy breakfast and lots of coffee we form a little massage circle before hiking down to the great waterfalls with a guide.

Crossing a tree bridge on our "dangerous" hike down-stream along the beautiful Agua Azul. End up at an amazing waterfall where we all drop our clothes and jump into the cool water - don't worry, most of us are wearing bathing suits underneath!

The water is unbelievably blue.............................and great to swim in! This picture is one of Mel's masterpieces. You can just feel what the water is like just looking at it.
