Day 2 - Jerusalem

 

 


The end of the walk on the ramparts led to the Wailing Wall. The wall is the supporting wall of the Temple. First built by Solomon three thousand years ago to house the Ark of the Covenant, the temple was destroyed by the Babylonians, rebuilt, and destroyed again by the Romans in 70 AD. However, there is no doubt where the Temple stood. The Temple Mound represents a huge outline of the most holy of locations of the Jews.
