Arrival in Albufeira, Portugal

We passed by many cork tree orchards on the way to Albufeira. Unfortunately the photo does not show the black trunk (with bark removed) of the trees with white numbers on them. The numbers indicate when the tree can next be harvested. Cork comes from the bark of the trees and is harvested every 9 years. We also saw orange, lemon, and olive trees, as well as vineyards. All around Albufeira were trees with white blossoms. These are almond trees.

After checking into the Cerro Algoa Hotel, the bus took us to the center of the town. Jane and I walked to the beach and then walked back to the hotel. The evening meal was a buffet served at 7:30.

The bride shown below is a photo taken the next day when the bus dropped us off in the center of town and Fred was walking back. Some of the wedding party were in cars and one bus, but many were on motorcycles, including the bride.
