The streets were crowded. There were lines everywhere. We did find a place to sit and had pastries for lunch. We borrowed a little Spanish money from friends for the food. There were lines everywhere; restaurants, bars, and toilets (which were all out of toilet paper). After heading off in the wrong direction and having to ask where the parade started, we found the parade street and the landmarks Jose had pointed out. We started down the street which was lined with chairs that had been for rent. However they were all sold out by the preceding Friday!! So we stood.
We found a spot and then stood for maybe 3 hours before the parade actually arrived. It didn't get to our spot until 8:00. In the mean time, a man and his family, in the chairs in front of us, kept us entertained. He kept sharing Sherry wine with us and even bought us some hard, pointy candy to suck on. This man seemed to know everyone in the parade. There were marchers, some in black face - the Moorish influence, dancers, music, and many floats, some very elaborate.
The parade may have lasted 1.5 to 2 hours and then we marched back to our bus. We were told we were the 60th bus. It was almost a 1 mile hike to get to the bus. We left at 9:30 and arrived at out hotel in Sevilla at MidNight.
