 Italy is located in the Western Europe and is adjacent to the following countries and seas: at North Switzerland and Austria, at West and North-West France, Tyrrhenian Sea, at South-West Mediterranean Sea, at South Ionean Sea and Mediterranean Sea, at East Slovenia and Adriatic Sea.
The official name of the country is Republica Italiana; it has a surface of 301.220 km2, 57.520.000 inhabitants; Rome is the capital.
