bookcover The Virgin Internet Travel Guide Version 1.0 by Davey Winder
Do we need travel agents any more? Not according to author Davey Winder who explains how to book holidays online, find travel information and resources on the Internet in "The Virgin Internet Travel Guide Version 1.0". Travel agents beware.

bookcover Down Under by Bill Bryson
From Burrumbuttock to Suggan Buggan to the supremely satisfying Tittybong, Bill Bryson takes a trip "Down Under" and reports on one of the world's most isolated places.

bookcover Lonely Planet Italy £9.59 (20% off)
This guidebook gives practical travel information about getting around, what to visit, where to stay and eat etc. It gives a realistic view of what to expect and doesn't try to put places in the best light as might a tourist board for example.

bookcover Walking in Italy by Helen Gilman £9.59
A walking guide to walks throughout Italy. The areas covered are Western Alps, Lake District, Dolomites, Alpi Maratime, Liguria, Volcanoes of Southern Italy, Amalfi Coast and Sorrento, Tuscany and Sardinia. Around Lake Garda there are walks from Malcesine and Limone, we did the walk from Malcesine.

bookcover Landmark Visitors Guide : The Italian Lakes £8.76
A guide to day trips and drives in and around the Italian Lakes. This book reads as if it was originally written in Italian and translated into English. It has a rather rose tinted view of the Lakes.

bookcover Lonely Planet Costa Rica
We used this book travelling around Costa Rica. It includes a small wildlife guide which is useful for identifying more common wildlife. However, the bird section is limited - due mainly to the vast biodiversity of Costa Rica!

bookcover Lonely Planet New York City
We're off to New York for a weekend for Mums birthday, so the LP New York book seems a good bet. The synopsis says that it proves far-reaching coverage of the sights, hotels and restaurants in New York City, this guide also features: background history; colour maps of the neighbourhoods and transportation system; and information on the museums, architecture and nightlife.

bookcover New York Rough Guide
Alternatively the Rough Guide also has good reviews, so take your pick. This guide covers New York in its multi-faceted whole, with critical accounts of neighbourhoods, sights, streets, bars, clubs, restaurants and hotels. This edition includes expanded coverage of Brooklyn, Queens and the other boroughs.
