During a three day break in March 97, I visited Perhentian Island on the west coast of Malaysia. It does deserve to be one of the top ten most beautiful beaches in the world.
Scroll down and check out some of the shots that I have took. I tried to capture the ambience of the place in these shots, but you have to be there to really feel it.

If you do have any questions on how to get to the place, you can e-mail me. I will be glad to enlighten you.
This is Puala Perhentian, which translated as 'Station Island'. This picture was taken while I was passing the volleyball net. The beauty of the beach immersed in the tranquil surroundings was really a sight to behold. All I could think of doing at that moment was to sit down, relax, and watch the coconut falls.
Incidentally, there was a little hut along the beach, with this boy selling "Roti Chani", some kind of island made pancake. Great tasting!
This shot was taken at around 5 in the evening at the west coast of coral bay. Amidst the setting sun,the two European speaking islanders (who had a little straw hideout on the shore) were playing "Captain Hook landing on Treasure Island". One of them was going "Land Ahoy!". Click the picture to spot the little row boat on the bottom right corner.
This inspirational shot was taken during late noon, on coral bay, a stone's throw from my hut's balcony. The coconut trees seemed to stretch their shadows into the crystal clear waters, giving the fishes a shady welcome!. That beach comber wrapped in Sarong, was looking for dead corals, to make his wind-chimer. It really makes a special ornamental gift I must say.
Yes, this is me, basking in the crystal clear waters, under the strong sun. This is Rawa Island, where there's lots of corals. There was small area, where there were magnificent red and blue corals. Also, you could find a couple of mischievous clown fishes among the soft corals.
This is Puala Dayong, an estuary on the mouth of the river where Kuala Terangganu resides. And on top of this little island, lies a village of happy people. Captured here is a little village boy, engrossed in getting his kite higher.Visiting this laidback Malay village (Kampung) brings back those good old childhood memories.
