Galway
After our tour Dan and I had worked up a fierce hunger, so on the advice from one of the employees of the Salmon Weir Hostel we headed down to a place called The Home Plate. It would be fair to say the the food, prices, and waitresses were everything a man could want! So good in fact that we went back again the next night.
After dinner we headed back to the hostel and got chatting with a couple of americans there, Katie and Shane. Between the four of us, we dicided to head out for a few of Galways best pints, especially seeing as it was Shanes 25th birthday....any excuse is a good excuse! It was a good night, slowed down only when Dans love of politics came to the forfront again. So at that stage me and Katie made a break for it and had a wee chat of our own, anything other than politics!

The next night there Dan and I decided that we should go check out some traditional Irish music. We were told of a cool place called the Crane that had good music, so we got some rather vague directions and trotted off into the night. While were wandering around we kept bumping into 2 French Canadian girls from the hostel and after about the sixth random crossing of paths we asked them what they were up to tonight. Turns out, they were looking for the Crane too, so we pooled our resources and finally found the place just a few minutes before the music was due to start. Now I think the coolest thing about this whole gig was that it wasn't organised in the slightest. Basically musicians roll up anytime after 10 and can sit down a start playing by themselves, or join in with whoever is there. Its brilliant, and you can guarantee that you will never get the same set twice!

Well, after a relaxed night with Eliza and Annie we all trotted back to the hostel and prepared for the next day......to the Aran Islands (With a name like that, it just had to be done didn't it?)
Aran Islands...
