Visit Fort San Pedro, a Spanish garrison built in 1565 to defend the city from Moro invaders. Magellan’s Cross which marked the spot where Raja Humabon, the local chieftain and his followers were baptized in 1521. The Basilica Minore del Santo Nino, which houses the image of the Holy Infant, a gift of Magellan to Raja Humabon’s wife. From Casa Gorordo Museum, if time permitting drive through Carbon Street, Cebu’s liveliest and most colorful central market where local handicrafts are on display and sold at popular price.
Cebu Market & Shopping Tour
Half of the fun in shopping at Cebu’s bargain basement is to haggle. Haggling for as low as half the price is even worth the risk of earning the vendor’s frown. See the agricultural produce and the many and varied handicrafts of Cebu Province are on offer at this big and colorful market of Carbon. From there, proceed to Fuente Osmena where one can find different varieties of tropical fruits available in the region. Then, move on for some upscale shopping at the Ayala Center of Cebu, where a wide array of products and services are offered in large shopping malls, posh boutiques and novelty shops. Here perfumes, designer clothes, shoes, bags, house decor, books are sold. Unlike in Carbon and Fuente Osmena where everything are in paid in cash, the malls and department stores at Ayala Center honor major credit cards.
Cebu by Night
Feel the beat of Cebu’s night life. Start the night with a seafood dinner or feast on native cuisine at ChickaanRestaunt. Then go to dancing in a frenzy at the Balls or Bai Disco. For a pleasurable listening music, try Pards. Finally, have a lucky streak at the classy Cebu Casino.
Cebu Island Hopping Experience
Being an island that is encircled by a narrow coastal plain, Cebu offers fine sandy beaches edged with coral reefs, some of which are perfect for snorkeling and scuba diving. An island-hopping trip to three of Cebu’s major beaches starts from jetty point in the city where we board a motorized outrigger boat that will take us to a cruise along the coast of Mactan, a great spot for shell-picking. Then we take on the beaches of Liloan, Sultan and Talisay where you can stretch out on the beach and soak up the sun or mingle with the fisher folk. Enjoy a sumptuous barbecue lunch between which will be served in one of the islands. Sun protection is a must, and an extra change of clothing will come in handy when we return to the hotel.
Chocolate Hills& Loboc River
Early morning board a local transportation for a countryside experience of Bohol passing at the site of the Blood Compact between Datu Sikatuna and Miguel Lopez de Legaspi, Baclayon Church and its museum and on to famous Chocolate Hills, a collection cone-shaped hills. The hills turn from green during rainy season to brown during summer. Enroute, take a cruise at Loboc River while savouring local lunch on board a raft.
