Villa Escudero, a resort and a coconut plantation in one, is located amid verdant landscapes and rugged terrain. Arrive at the resort after two-hour drive from Manila. Visit the Escudero Museum where they have a collection of anything from butterflies to Spanish carriages. Enjoy a ride in a carabao cart while being serenaded by folk singers. Have a hearty lunch while dipping your feet a stream running beneath the tables. After lunch, take a tour of the plantation to experience life in the country. Return to Manila in the late afternoon.
Hidden Valley
A tropical forest of giant ferns, Amlang trees, bamboos and wild flowers are waiting for you in a valley in once upon a time a crater of great volcano. Trail the winding steps up to the hidden waterfalls. Along the way enjoy a dip in the man-made pools whose cool and tepid water corners out from a spring in the meandering streams. Lunch is served. Before you decide to enjoy the rest of the day in the lovers pool or soda pool which are laced with gardens full of wild flowers... No picking of flowers please... Don’t forget to take a delicious snack before driving back to Manila.
Majestic Taal
Taal is known to be the world’s smallest but dealiest volcano. Drive through scenic landscape until you reach Talisay, a town along the shores of Taal Lake. Board a motorized outrigger boat for the 30-minute ride to the volcanic island and embark a 45-minute trek through hardened black lava top the rim of the crater. Return to Talisay for a late afternoon lunch in a restaurant overlooking the lake. Return to Manila after a short stop at the Bamboo Organ in Las Pinas.
