There is nothing - absolutely nothing - half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats.

Sailing and CyberKnot: I will put pieces up here about my travels. CyberKnot is "on the hard" right now for work that needs to be done. Stay tuned and check the "Whereabouts" page, sooner or later I'll have more misadventures and adventures.
Quotes about the Sea There are a lot of people who just don't understand the sea, finding it either unreasonably romantic or unreasonably threatening. The balance to me has always been to have no confidence in the sea and every confidence in your boat. My first experience sailing was a voyage to Havana Cuba in the '70s. The FBI tried to prevent us from docking in Key West, the refugees wanted to blow the boat up, we ran aground in Havana and the Coast Guard wanted to tow us when we returned to the US. I think I started out being realistic. Oh, I had every confidence in the Mondcivitano, the Alden Ketch I was aboard.
