I was born on a sunny Sunday afternoon. The twelth of January 1997 at quarter to 5 in the afternoon, to be exact! I was born at the Pretoria Gynaecological Hospital, in the Active Birth Unit. Sister Sue King helped my mom, Dione, with her water birth. Yes, I was born in water!!
My birth was extremely special to all involved. Mom's gynaecologist came by just to observe, since he had never witnessed (or done) a waterbirth before. Midwife, Sue, was fantastic and was with us the entire time. We only found out later that she was actually on annual leave and ended up doing four births that day!! My granddad and Uncle ("Unca Dean") hung around in the room with us until they felt uncomfortable and stood outside rather! (Chickens!!) My granny and daddy, André, stood with mom at the birth the entire time. Mom says it was a great experience.
I don't have a link to it - yet - but if you do a search on waterbirths, you will find the whole story there. And yes, I would recommend it!.
I used to go to a playgroup called Moms And Miracles. I loved going there. Aunty Sharon took these photos of us at one of our Saturday classes.
I recently celebrated my 3rd birthday party! We had such fun! See the photos here but please remember to sign my guestbook? Thanks!
Have a look at a few links to some of my favourite places on the 'net or pop back to the homestead!
I love Veggie Tales: have a look at their homepage!
I would love to explore a lot of stuff at www.howstuffworks.com.
