Tal and greeting, welcome to my little piece of Gor and my own personal thoughts.
Yes I am a FreeWoman on Gor, many may think a protential slave, well I have been that to be honest, I was the slave ahleia, I am not ashamed to admit that, my Master at the time was Hawk and a wonderful and dedicated Man of Gor, who to this day I love dearly.
I learnt alot from being a slave, one was that I am woman no matter what statis, and that statis of FW was returned to me by the Ubar of the Dark Castle, Viper, whom I consider a good and Noble Friend.
Many may know what a FreeWoman might be, but to me it is the Freedom of knowing who one is and their place. I have heard the saying a FW is a slave with clothes, maybe We are, for I have met many a good and strong FW who has eventually for the love of a Man of Gor become slave. We all have the desire burn in our bellys to serve, and a good FW would know how to serve and know the ways of a kajira.
In My readings of the scrolls/books I have read a few times that as children that girls were taught the dances of Gor, and the ways, so to me a FW does have a fire burning, it takes the right Warrior to stoke it. *lol* (now that is not a pun honestly)
Honestly being on Filetopia Gor, FW are not kidnapped by TarnsMen or taken by slavers, or ripped off of high bridges of cities, they choose the way They live, some I have met are strong and wonderful FW, with dedications, and positions. Many I have met are of the Green Caste (physicians), being a slaver and trainer (which is rare), it is in Players of Gor pg 86, and I love doing it and someone has to do it. Also met a few panther girls, which I have seen not to many admit too but they too are strong in their ways and beliefs and that is their right. The point being We have to live the role we chose in this vt world of Gor. Yes I said role, I did not say game, Gor is part of Me, the way I am, but we all play a role on Gor, whether Master or Mistress or slave. We came to vt Gor and had the choice to which role we are in, and I know I am stepping on toes I am sure, but it is Our part of Gor, and my own opinion.
I am writing this page for the purpose of helping new Free Woman learn about Gor making the transition easier. Here are some exerpts from the books that maybe helpful to the Free Woman as She journies her way around and across Gor. Veils are worn in various numbers and combinations by Gorean free women, this tending to vary by preference and caste. Many low-class Gorean women own only a single veil which must do for all purposes. The veil, it might be noted, is not legally imperative for a free woman; it is rather a matter of modesty and custom. Some low-class, uncompanioned, free girls do not wear veils. Similarly certain bold free women neglect the veil. Neglect of the veil is not a crime in Gorean cities, though in some itis deemed a brazen and scandalous omission." *Alars
: a nomadic wandering herdspeople well known for their skill with the axe and the Alar sword, they travel in wagons in the northern plains, but tend to camp near settlements, unlike the southern wagon people. Their Free women do not wear veils, rather simple, corded, belted, woolen, plain, widely sleeved, ankle-length dresses, tied snugly . There are few slaves in the Alar camps because they are killed by Free women. The Alars tend to be fair in complexion, blonde-haired and blue-eyed.

*Robes of Concealment
: the mode of dress favored by free women in some of the larger city-states (i.e. Ar Ko-ro-ba Turia etc.); it consists of one or more hooded robes of heavy brocade or other opaque fabric plus up to five face veils.

: the second in the layer of veils worn by Free women also called the 'veil of the citizeness'.

*bride price
: this fee is one paid by a Free Man to her family, for a Free Woman as he takes her as a Free Companion. If a man free's a slave, the slave's family is bound by honor to grant her to him without bride price.

: a room designed or arranged for the capture of an unwary Free Woman, normally this captured Free Woman is then enslaved.

*couching law
: any Free woman who voluntarily 'couches' with the slave of another may be taken as slave herself by the Master of the slave she 'couched' with.

*Free Companionship
: the closest equivalent to marriage on Gor. A woman is bought from her parents and is considered a Free Companion, even though she may not have been consulted in the arrangement. A woman, may agree of her own free will to be a Free Companion, and a Master may free his slave for Free Companionship. A man may have only one Free Companion at a time, but the relationship is considered binding, sundered usually, only by death as long as it is annually renewed.. A Gorean free woman does not change her name in the ceremony of the Free Companionship. From the Gorean point of view, the wife of Earth occupies a status which is higher than that of the slave, but lower than that of the Free Companion.

: a game played by Free Woman at the Carnival where each woman is given ten scarves and must run about asking for the men to accept her favor; the goal to be the first to get rid of the scarves and run back.

: a submission rug used in Tharna on which a free woman naked and bound with yellow cords must submit as slave to her master first hearing him recite a ritual poem then yielding physically.

: a kajirus used to seduce a Free Woman into violating the couch law and becoming slave.

*self-contract, limited, slave
: an arrangement wherein a Free Woman contracts to be an experimental slave for a period of time ranging from one night to a year. Her documents will contain a specified termination date.

: any of the sensuous and lascivious dances performed by slave girls to entertain their masters. The dancing of a slave is a thousand times more sensuous than that of a free woman because of the incredible meanings involved the additional richness which this furnishes the explosive significance of this comprehension that she who dances is owned and theoretically could be owned by you.
