OK... back to business...

It was the day after our fight... I was still feeling a bit sad and moody (can't shake things like that off me very easily). I had an appointment at the dentist's at 4 pm that day, and when I came back home Pierre had already come home from work and came to meet me in the hallway. He told me he had a surprise for me and went down on his knees (yes, both of them; because he obviously didn't have a clue how to do -isn't that just too sweet?- *smile*) and held up a small green box tied with a ribbon and said he was sorry about everythimg and asked me if I wanted to marry him. I started to unwrap the ribbon, and open the box to see what was in it, when Pierre (still on his knees in the hallway) asked me if I wasn't going to answer him!? I had gone a bit perplexed and wanted to see what was in the box first, but then I came to my senses.
I had hoped for a more emotional reaction, but since I was still a bit numb from the fight and all, all I did was smile, hug him and say -"of course I do!".

The whole thing was just great; OK the timing could have been better, but I think this was his way of saying he was sorry; making up for yesterday and prove that he did want to get married for real. I only wish I had been more "me" and not so blue as I was. (It took me about two more days to fully recover.)
The really great thing is that I had been pondering to myself how Pierre was going to propose, and since we were already engaged since 3,5 years I already had an engagement ring. But I secretly thought it would be a neat thing if he bought me an engagement ring anyway, just a simple, symbolic one, so to speak, and proposed to me "the American way" since I had been reading a lot of proposal stories and really liked the way they were performed. He must have read my mind (perhaps he has some minor mind reading skills after all...? *grin*), because that's exactly what he did!!!

I'm wearing that ring on my right hand, though, because if I wore it on my left hand, I'd have three, and that's just too much gold for one finger to bear... ;o)
