Sorry folks this one takes a while to load.

From New Brunswick, I flew to Calgary via Toronto. I had a short stopover in Toronto but not long enough to do anything really but look around the airport and of course buy some post cards so that I would have something from there. Traveling around so much it was really hard to collect souvenirs. I had to be very careful what I bought as I had far too much stuff to carry around as it was heh heh heh.

My friend Rick picked me up in Calgary and drove me up to Red Deer , which is about an hour and a half from Calgary. I stayed with Karen and Ron and their family there.
What a delight it was to visit with them ... Karen and I became very close and it was a sad day indeed the day I left on the bus for Calgary again. We had a great time together and did a lot of computer stuff and had a few wonderful outings in a short time. One we both really enjoyed was the trip through the new prestige houses that were  open for inspection ..... what a laugh we had that afternoon :-)

We also did a trip to Sylvan Lake. And I got to see SNOW here too :-)
So it was a very memorable visit.

I went back to Calgary to Rick's again and he took me up through the Rockies. I would have to say that for sheer beauty ... this was the place that will stay in my mind as AWESOME.  I have never been as impressed with surroundings the same way as the Rockies impressed me .... I can't describe the feeling it gave me to stand and do a 360 degrees and be totally surrounded by majestic snow-capped mountains. Every bend in the road was more breath-taking than the last :-)
I know my photos do not do it justice but I will share them with you anyway.

This is Mothers Day  brunch ... it was just wonderful ... Jonathan, Michael, Cameron, Ron, Sydney and Karen.

RED DEER,  ALBERTA

This is the view at the front of Karen's the morning after it snowed so pretty :-)

Judy Sydney and Karen at Sylvan Lake ... brrrrrrrr !!!!
All these photos are from the Rockies heading from Calgary up to the Glacier.

POST SCRIPT
From here I flew back to Vancouver and spent the last couple of days here with Sue.... What a lovely way to end my wonderful Holiday.
I am just amazed at how quickly it went by ... I had 7 weeks in total and one day I will work out how many miles I covered during that time.

I think it is the best thing I have ever undertaken and would highly recommend to anyone thinking along those lines. I have made wonderful lifetime friends and wouldn't have missed the experience for anything.
