My Birthday - 18. August 2000

Please, let me introduce myself.

My name is Maximilian Nicholas and everyone calls me Max. I am Alicias little brother and will also have a say on these pages.

 

I was born at St. Dominic's Hospital in East London on the 18th of August at 2:54 a.m.. What a surprise for my parents who were not expecting me to arrive on that day or better, during that night. I am 50 cm tall and I am weighing in at 3,6 kg.

My sister was also born at the same hospital. She was also delivered by caesarean section in the very same theatre as me (that is theatre no.4). That night she was sleeping and Tati, our neighbour, was looking after her after my dad knocked at the door of our neighbours to inform them about my imminent arrival. She, Alicia, woke up twice during that night, but Tati told her (in Spanish) that her parents have gone to fetch the new baby (that was me!). So she fell asleep again, quite happy with that explanation.

My dad returned home at about 4 a.m. to inform all grandparents about my birth. He even opened a bottle of champagne together with our neighbours to celebrate my arrival.

And this is me relaxing under a radiant heater in the nursery - I am less than one hour old.

What an exciting start into life. That very morning my big sister came to visit me. And then even Omido and Opido, my grandparents, arrived to see me. For all photos about my first day - click here!!!
