Here you see one of the sunsets that we watched daily from Ka'anapali Beach, the beach on West Maui where we were staying.
Here we are in the pool at our hotel.
And another beautiful sunset.
This was the view from the top level of our hotel,
looking down Ka'anapali Beach at the other
resorts and the beach. This was about as
crowded as the beach ever got!
These next two pictures are from our bike riding adventure down the side of the dormant volcano, Haleakala, the volcano that formed most of the island of Maui. The bike ride is about 35 miles long, most of it downhill, so it was not very strenuous but instead a lot of fun!
You can see the road that we will be riding down behind us on the right. You can also see that we are above the clouds at this point.
This is a view, a little further down the volcano, of the West Maui Mountains, the South Maui resort area, and the Pacific Ocean. Our hotel was on the other side of these mountains.
