We landed at Tibet after a hilarious and eventful 2-hour plane ride from Chengdu. Firstly, Binni was almost 'detained' in Chengdu Airport because the travel agent had made a mistake in her passport number, and the airport official was unhappy about it (well, it shows how efficient and 'careful' they are in allowing visitors into Tibet!). But how else but this hiccup can the six of us made an enterence in the Airbus 340, and the plane took off immediately after we boarded???
The plane was fully packed: imagine it's the largest Airbus that can carry more than 300 passengers, and they are all pouring into Tibet. It seems that Tibet has lost its mystery already!
Well, the second incident happened when there was a lucky draw on-board. The first prize for being the seat number chosen is, a clock!! This is the last thing to give a Chinese!! Because the action of giving a clock sounds exactly the same as holding a funeral in Mandarin!!! At least the six of us did not want to be chosen for the first prize, and we pretended to be sleeping!!
And no prizes for guessing the third event right: a mobile phone rang, from the man sitting behind me!!!! And any idea what he replied when a stewardess asked him to switch it off?? 'It's my alarm clock'......!!!!??
I was't sleepy instantly....
