Chris came bearing presents...so after the toast we proceeded to open them...the most interesting gift was a cute little camping cooler that Mom had to nearly force Chris to bring with him (see explanation below)...

Inside the cooler was the top of our wedding cake, which ultimately came all the way from Fearrington Village in Pittsboro, NC...having been thawed, frozen, thawed, and refrozen on the way.

But it is a tradition with some to have a piece of their wedding cake on their 1st anniversary...so we were game. Well, I was...Mike immediately asked Chris, "Couldn't you have 'lost' that thing somehow on the way!?" It's a shame that Mike was the one doing the videotaping here--you should have seen the look on his face!
