In the middle of March, we spent the weekend at Gwynneth Vineyard, the >20 year project of Adrian Vandenbergen (a researcher in the Bond Lab) and his family. We had volunteered to help with the harvesting of his grapes (mostly Cabernet Sauvignon, but some Chenin Blanc) and were thrilled that he included us in his best vintage yet! Also picking were Gwynneth (wife), Janet (daughter) Paul (son), and Steve (a longtime family friend)...they treated us like one of the family. It was wonderful. And more than ever, we want to own our own vineyard one day...

Picking was much more fun that we'd thought it would be, once Adrian showed us how to do it without breaking our backs!
We picked, and Adrian or Steve came around with a tractor to pick up colorful buckets-full of beautiful grapes!
