More photos from London:
Here's a good impression of just how many
tourists there are in London every day... This is the entrance to the Tower of London. Most of these people don't speak English. We returned later when the line had died down and toured around the Tower (at the cost of 12.5 pounds, or about $30.00 AUD--London is certainly not inexpensive!!). |
The following day, we walked around Hyde Park and were thrilled to see friendly squirrels! It was just like feeding the possums back in Melbourne! It had been long enough that we actually appreciated these little guys again. We also visited Harrod's, which was impressive but which nonetheless made us feel dirty! All that glamour and ostentation--even golfball markers were priced at 1 pound (about $2.50 AUD)--no wonder that place is losing money! | |
Another trip to a pub, this one more modern...and then we were off to see Augustus's Oak (a play) at the Globe theatre (sorry, no pictures). |
We could only slip in a few drinks before last call at ~11:00...then we returned to the B&B where Mike and I were staying (pictured below is Mike and Bertie, our hosts' friendly dog). |
That's it for England, but there are photos from Holland. Click the frog to move immediately forward in the photo album. |
