Kangaroo Island - Marine Mammals

We also saw some marine mammals that call Kangaroo Island home. The first animals we saw were Australian Sea Lions. We took a guided walk out on the beach where they hang out and managed to get real cose to them. This picture of Melissa gives you an idea of just how close we got.

Of course, being this close allowed us to get heaps of good shots, samples of which follow. Below is a picture of a pup trying to get some mothers milk, but mom's not hearing it ...

Then we saw some other puppies taking a nap.

That is until another older, adolescent male decided he wanted to play with them.

The last picture shows a grown female coming in from sea. These sea lions go out and gorge themselves on fish and such for 2-3 days straight. Then they come onto the beach and take a well earned rest.

This cutey just came in. She says "Oooh am I full! And sleepy."
