The
Islands (continued)
Jost Van Dyke
- Great
Harbor - good overnight anchorage; restaurants. Looks
like a fantasy tropical island, a long horseshoe shaped
white sand beach, fringed by palms and dotted with beach
restaurants and bars. Population 300, very friendly with
lots of stories to tell.
- Great
Tobago - 3 miles W of JVD. Tiny cove for one or two
boats. Uninhabited; settled weather lunch stop only;
small beach is like a scene out of a private dream; the
entire island reeks of bay rum.
- Green
Cay - Excellent beach and snorkeling.
- Little
Harbor - good overnight anchorage; restaurants; some
provisions; nightlife on shore.
- Sandy
Cay - Excellent beach; nature walk, snorkeling on N side
if seas calm.
- White
Bay - excellent beach, good snorkeling, sheltered and
surrounded by a coral reef; good day time stop;
restaurant.
Little Jost Van Dyke
- Good
snorkeling and beach on S side.
Mosquito
Island (North Sound)
- Nice
to explore - pristine; well marked hiking trails, four
isolated private beaches, bush plants and trees.
- A
storybook tropical island; ultimate island escape.
- Long
Beach reef is magnificent and encloses lots of fish and
coral. Yachties can eat at the restaurant right on the
waterfront - gourmet.
- Good
overnight anchorage - breezy and bug free.
- Good
snorkeling W of Anguilla Pt. and around Mosquito Rock.
