snorkeling; Marina Cay - nice overlook of harbor. The
Last Resort on Bellamy Cay is an absolute must - food,
entertainment, sailboard lessons, restaurant - good
cooking and Tony Snell on piano, not to be missed
(formerly on Jost Van Dyke).
- Bluff
Bay on S side is considered the nicest anchorage in BVI.
Buck
Island (near Tortola)
- Completely
sheltered unless wind SE.
- Good
shelling; desert island atmosphere; cool breezes, sand
beach; anchor behind.
Cockroach
Island
- Visibles
- SW under water pinnacles, caves, canyons.
Cooper
Island
- Good
snorkeling and hiking.
- Cooper
Island Beach Club - mooring for night; dinghy ride to
Haulover Bay 1 mile S for shelling.
- Manchioneel
Bay:
- anchor and
dinghy ride to Diamond Rock for snorkeling.
- Entirely
sheltered; moorings $15; restaurants, excellent
snorkeling; take dinghy to the S of Manchioneel
Bay to Cistern Point.
- Good overnight
anchorage.
Dead
Chest Island
- Good
anchorage's
- Pirates
stranded here; buried treasure.
- Snorkeling
looks good on lee side.
George
Dog Island
- Pretty
day time anchorage.
Ginger
Island
- Mushroom
coral heads, great visibility; pet the stingrays and play
with the huge jewfish.
Great
Dog Island (near Tortola)
- Excellent
snorkeling when no ground swells, beach, uninhabited.
- W
Dog is a National Park with good diving.
- S
side of Great Dog - reef runs E & W, 100 yards of
island coral, butterfly fish - exciting location.
- Best
anchorage's on George Dog to W of Kitchen Pt. & on S
of the cay.
- Chimney
- Tunnel with
overhead opening and good snorkeling and diving.
- West Bay,
unbelievable variety of small creatures.
- N side of the W
bay of Great Dog- a series of rocky cliffs good
for snorkeling.
Great
Camanoe (near Tortola)
- Marina
Cay - excellent all weather anchorage; fifteen moorings;
excellent snorkeling behind Marina Cay along shore of
Great Camanoe, and plenty of dinghy exploring around
adjacent islands. Hot showers, facilities.

Thatch
- Anchor
W of Callwoods Pt.; excellent snorkeling.
Great
Tobago
Green
Cay (off Jost van Dyke)
- Good
snorkeling, swimming, beach, and picture perfect tropical
island.
- Superb
daytime stop with excellent snorkeling - best reef S of
the cay.
- Worth
scrambling over, if only to visit the miniature crater.
Guana
Island
- White
Beach - sea kayaking, snorkeling, plenty of beer. But
"yachties" not welcome beyond 12 feet above
shore.
- Good
snorkeling off Monkey Point.
