After four days at the Plantation Bay Resort, we decided to try something different. We spent the last day of our vacation at the Island Shangri-La which is also on Mactan Island. It is an even bigger resort. |

The Shangri-La has a beautiful beach. The natural beaches of Mactan Island are rocky with course dark sand. The Shangri-La imported fine white sand and carefully groom the beach. I suspect that this picturesque rock outcropping is also man-made. The water was crystal clear. The kids said they wanted to come the Shangri-La because in had a much nicer beach than Plantation Bay. |

After we moved to the Shangri-La, the kids seemed far more interested in the large swimming pool than the beach. |

|
There was more cultural shows and entertainment at the Shangri-La. We had wonderful Sicilian style Italian food one stormy night and were entertained by strolling musicians. |
