Houston
in July

is hot and humid, an attractive skyline in a flat world. Greener than I expected, it even rained (stormed) a few times, although without lowering the temperature to bareable. The sights I saw were the Space Center, AstroWorld, Galvestone, and the view from the revolving restaurant in Downtown. The streets are wide, but littered with burst tyres, and walled with advertisments for churches, beds, cars and adult entertainments. Probably typical for the US but strange for a Brit. Tex Mex and the ubiquitous IHOP(pancakes) are compulsary.
Use insect repelant, I had 13 bites on one ancle.
Houston is a hub for Continental Airlines who were fine for me.
