Useful infos:
la Guadeloupe!
FIRST of ALL: It is so long time that we thought to have
a beautiful travel without having one precise destination but with
two firm points: to find a wonderful sea and to spend as little
money as possible.
Giving up all those places that were too much fashionable or "spoiled"
from the mass tourism, we began to consider some tips like the cost
of living, the absence of dangerous animals and the presence of
some "comforts" like banks, hospitals, doctors and supermarkets.
Result: Guadeloupe!
This archipelago, with St.Martin and the Martinique,
is part of the oversea departments of France: you only need the
identity card, you pay in French francs, you eat French baguettes,
but it is really hard to believe to be in France! From June, in
the Antilles, it starts the low season, as the sky is less limpid
and every time you risk a short (but intense) shower.
By telephone
we contact the airline in order to reserve our flight Bologna-Pointe
à Pitre (via Paris) succeeding to obtain the lower rate. Then we
reserve the first week in a small
flat ("gite") near one of the best beaches: St. Anne in Grande
Terre. But when we will be on the place, we will decide to confirm
the second week too, as we were enthusiastic about the beauty of
the place and the many comforts offered from our small flat
and garden.
