ocated on the edge of the waters of the deepest loch in Scotland, Urquhart Castle is a must see. The castle is in ruins, yet it still draws crowds of hopeful visitors who search the waters of Loch Ness for a glimpse of the world-renowned resident monster. It was at this castle where this fantastic picture of the ancient creature was taken.
Just up the road at Drumnadrochit, one can tour the Loch Ness Monster Exhibition, and learn about the studies being done in search of this great (mythical?) creature. Volunteers man all-day watches in the areas where Nessie is believed most likely to appear. Scans of the waters have produced circumstantial evidence of Nessie's existence, and possibly that of a another smaller monster as well. Due to the depth of the loch (754 ft.) and its narrow confines, some areas still remain unexplored.
At the Visitors Center, visitors may have pictures taken with a giant plastic replica of Nessie.
