The fresh leaves of the plant are ubiquitous green herb of southern Asia and South America, and the fruitcis the spice, which has a completely different smell, taste and character. In most producing countries there is a large domestic demand for both herb and spice. | ||
Coriander seed oil has myriad medicinal uses. It has antibacterial properties and is also included in treatments for colic, neuralgia and rheumatism. The oil also counteracts unpleasant odours in pharmaceutical preparations and tobacco. | ||
