Miscou Island Lighthouse, July, 1998
The Miscou Island Lighthouse is at the end of a very scenic drive from Shippagan along Ile Lameque and Miscou Island. Also, there are two other lighthouses to see along the way, at Shippagan and Black Point.
The road to the lighthouse offers numerous views of the building from several kilometers away. The road can be taken all the way to the lighthouse. The beach and large boulders along the road offer good walking and photo elements.
I visited the lighthouse in July, 1998, in the early morning, approaching from the west. Later in the afternoon should offer better photo opportunities.
This lighthouse and the drive from Shippagan are not to be missed.
