Gilbert's Cove Lighthouse, July, 1998
The Gilbert's Cove Lighthouse, build in 1904, is a relative newcomer.
The lighthouse no longer functions, but it is open to the public. The Gilbert's Cove and District Historical Society took over the building in 1985, and now operate it as a museum and gift shop. You can even take in an afternoon tea at this one.
Our stop here during our summer, 1998 visit was a very brief one. I spent about half an hour viewing and photographing the lighthouse, but didn't get a chance to take the tour or even get inside. Next time I will.
The lighthouse is accessible over a rough dirt road from Gilbert's Cove.
