Carter Island Lighthouse, July, 1998
The Carter Island Lighthouse was built on Carter Island just of Lockeport in 1872.
This is one of the lighthouses that is accessible only by boat, but offers reasonable viewing from the shore. I visited the fish processing plant in Lockeport to photograph the lighthouse, while the rest of my family played on the beach. Next time I will visit the island and spend some time with it.
